Now this morning was the ultimate in slow starts to the day...by the time we had done our exercises, showered, had breakfast and done up the dishes, it was after 12 noon! We were going to take the boat out on the lake today and do a little fishing.
Rather than use the boat launch here at the campground, we decided to drive down the highway to the boat launch where we had washed our quads yesterday. It was not quite as busy and the ramp was in better condition. We got the boat down, the motor on, and all the gear loaded in and wheeled it down to the ramp. There were a few tense moments as Steve was connecting the new gas line from the tank to the boat motor. The new connectors did not fit easily onto either the tank or the motor but after some “forcing” he managed to get them to stay connected...and not leak.
And away we went...the boat motor ran well...yay! Steve had been concerned because he hadn’t had a chance to test it out after the service it had before we left Victoria. Actually, the boat hadn’t been out on any water since last September...wow!
We did a little fishing but with no success. There were few fish showing on the “fish finder” so after an hour or so, we reeled our lines in and decided to go for a ride up the shoreline and take a look at the cottages and homes. Some very nice places...on a very beautiful lake.
We were back home by 3:30. The rest of the afternoon was spent just relaxing in the sunshine...it had been a gorgeous day. After dinner and dishes, we went for a good power walk then settled in to watch BCTV news at 8:00. I decided to watch TV from the kitchen table while playing games on the laptop. Experience has shown that as soon as I relax on the couch or in my recliner, it is not long before I’m snoozing.
After a couple of hours, we headed to bed. Steve watched the 11:00 p.m. CTV National News at 10:00 p.m. our time while I played a little Sudoku on my Ipod. Tomorrow is laundry day...we are going to drive into The Pas.
