It was going on 11:00 by the time we had gone through our usual morning routine...it was also exercise day. We hadn't had much luck with Skype calls lately but did manage one this morning with my brother and sister-in-law (Dennis and Suzanne) who are in Indio, CA. I guess all of the RVers around here were at the RV show...not home using their Verizon MiFi. We had a great chat and got caught up...another brother, Dwight, is flying down from Victoria, BC tomorrow. Sorry we're going to miss him...but we did just see him while home at Christmas, just a few weeks ago.
Shortly after 1:00, we received the phone call we were expecting. Bob and Karen Palmer were coming over for a visit. They are staying at Emerald Cove, on the Colorado River, just across from Parker, AZ and are coming down to the RV show, so thought they would stop by for a visit. We first met Bob and Karen at the RV-Dreams Fall Rally in Oregon, a year ago last September and then again, last February at the Boondocking Rally off Plomosa Road, just north of Quartzsite. We met so many wonderful people at these rallies...forming long lasting friendships.
Steve drove his quad out to meet them and led them to our spot. We had a wonderful afternoon visiting and catching up with them. Next thing we knew, it was after 4:30...wow, where did the afternoon go! After hugs and handshakes, they were on their way back to Parker. They will be heading back to San Dimas, CA tomorrow...Bob has to be back at work Wednesday. Countdown to retirement has started...but he's just not sure of the exact date yet. Safe travels, you two...great seeing you!
