Monday, December 30, 2013 (La Posa South LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ)

It was about 10:00 when we headed out of La Posa South for Lake Havasu City.

On our way we stopped at Quiet Times in Quartzsite to pick up a parcel...the legs for our new propane heater had arrived...and this time the hardware was in the package...yay!

It was a gorgeous day!

This is a golf course just north of Parker...a beautiful green oasis in the desert...
The Colorado River...
Bill Williams River...

We arrived at AZ West Motorsports just before noon. The issue with Steve's ATV turned out to only be an overfilled differential that once heated, leaked dif oil out of the vent tube that runs up through the frame. Apparently it was overfilled at the last service...odd that after the number of rides we have been on since that service last spring, it would start happening now.

After loading the quad into the truck, we decided to go out for lunch. We went across the London Bridge...

...to Barley Brothers Restaurant and Brewery...

After lunch we went for a short stroll down by the river...

Then it was time to head back over the bridge to Safeway for some much needed grocery shopping. The first thing we did once in Safeway was go to the pharmacy and to get our flu shots.

After I finished the grocery shopping, we stopped at an an O'Reilly Auto Parts store so Steve could pick up some silicone spray and then we started our trek back to Quartzsite. We wanted to check out Cattail Cove State Park, so took the turnoff that lead down to the park on the Colorado River. It is a very popular campground but we didn't think much of it. The sites were very close together and there wasn't much maneuvering room, especially for a rig as large as ours.

The river was beautiful in the late afternoon sun as we continued south...

It was about 6:30 and dark by the time we got back home. After unloading all of the bags from the truck, I put the groceries away while Steve installed the legs on the heater and got it set up.

We had a light dinner and then settled in for the evening...after a long day.
