We woke to the coldest morning so far...24F/-4C...I think that it is supposed to gradually start warming up, I hope the weather forecasters are right...we're ready for some warmth!
With the cold temps overnight, the furnace ran a lot keeping Steve awake, so he didn't get a very good night's sleep...for a change, I didn't seem to have too much trouble...we sure are looking forward to our new propane heater! It is scheduled to be in Quartzsite tomorrow.
At about 10:30, we headed out for a walk...it was pretty darned chilly! After a brisk walk, we were back 35 minutes later...that's enough for now!
We gathered the empty water jugs and headed into Quartzsite to refill them. This time we decided to also fill our 2 five gallon containers. After that was done, we stopped at Gramma's Heaters...Steve wanted to talk to the fellow there about plumbing in the propane for our new heater. He was given the business card of someone local. After that, we parked and wandered around a few more vendor tents...more are setting up every day.
Once home, we had a quick bite for lunch and then Steve headed outside...time to empty the holding tanks. He took his quad over to Earl's to pick up the trailer...Earl is letting us borrow his portable 'dumping' station. Since it was Steve's first time using it, Earl also came over to help him. After a couple of trips over to the sani-dump, the tanks were empty and our fresh water tank was full.
While he was doing that, I was inside baking a walnut-raisin loaf. For some reason, this loaf decided to stick to the pan...sheesh! Thankfully I was able to salvage enough of it to take to the Quartzsite Geocachers "Meet and Greet" tomorrow morning.
It was about 3:30 when I decided to go for another walk. It had warmed up considerably but the wind was still a little chilly. When I got back, I found Steve sitting outside lazing back in his chair enjoying the sunshine...it was really quite nice as long as you were out of the wind.
And that was pretty much our day...
BRRR-I will try not to complain too much about the heat here in Florida.
