Today was an "inside" day...yes, it was another cold one out there! After our coffee, we did our resistance exercises and then I bundled up and headed out for a walk. Holy Cats! that wind was bitterly cold! I should have worn my wool toque but thought, nah...my baseball cap and hood will be fine...not! But I braved it out there for a 40 minute walk. While I was gone, Steve showered and had his breakfast.
With the cold weather, we have been using our small 3000 BTU catalytic heater rather than run the furnace all of the time but it's just not big enough in these cold temps to heat the size of our fifth-wheel. It works well for what it was intended...to heat the box of the truck when we camp out in it. So Steve has been researching heaters and finally decided on the Camco Olympian RV Wave-8 LP Gas Catalytic Safety Heater. We ordered it and with 2 day delivery, should be able to pick it up in Quartzsite by Wednesday. Just in time for the weather to start warming up!
The rest of the day was spent inside reading while the wind howled outside, rocking the trailer. Steve even had a little nap later in the afternoon. The furnace kept waking him up during the night.
At 5:30 we headed over to Earl and Allison's for dinner...Earl had made a big pot of chili and they had invited us over to help them eat it. The chili, along with Allison's green salad, and fruit salad for desert, made for a delicious dinner! Thanks so much!
After dinner, the table was cleared and the Rummikub game was brought out...tonight Earl made up for not winning any of the hands last night, winning all 4 games. It was after 9:00 when we called it a night and headed home...a great meal...a good game...great company...equals a great evening!
I'll end this post with a picture...yesterday, Earl brought over a Christmas Tree for our trailer...we now have two decorations!
