We decided to go out for breakfast at a little bistro-type restaurant where we have gone a few time for lunch and breakfast. Unfortunately, when we arrived there, it was closed. There was a note written on the glass window saying they had moved, but I couldn't read it from the truck. Hmmm...so where shall we go now?
After driving down the main street to see what other options were available, we decided to head towards Eugene. A short distance down Hwy 99, I remembered seeing a cafe called the Stockman Cafe housed in a stockyard auction building. So we stopped there. We had a good breakfast served by a very chatty waitress, who suggested the Valley River Center as a good shopping mall in Eugene. We didn't know what we were going to do today, so we thought we would take a drive there.
These rather interesting looking buildings were adjacent to the Valley River Center...
There is a nice looking river walk with parking on the outer edge of the parking lot behind the mall...
Since it was only about 9:00 and the stores inside the mall didn't open until 10:00, we joined all of the "mall walkers" and did a couple of laps inside...and then headed back out to the truck...nothing that we really wanted to look at which involved waiting for the stores to open.
We thought we would venture into downtown Eugene...
After taking a few of the many one-way roads, we determined that we really didn't know where to go, so programmed Serena to get us back to Junction City. This is the Willamette River...
After a quick stop at Jerry's Hardware, we were on the final stretch back to Guaranty RV...pretty cloudy out, some major rain is in the forecast...
Shortly after 4:00 we headed back to see how they were doing on our fifth-wheel. Warren, the tech working on it, had just finished up, so we walked down to take a look. We thought we had a new slider issue, but it's all fine...whew! Instead of moving us back over to the camping lot, they said we could just stay put...we plan on leaving early in the morning anyway and I was just as happy not to have to move again.
