Monday, March 3, 2014 (Estrella Mountain Regional Park, Goodyear, AZ)

After our usual start to the day, we headed off in search of a car wash with a bay big enough to accommodate the truck. Donna had said that there was a car wash just up Estrella Parkway where they get their car washed but she nor Bob couldn't recall if there was a large truck bay.
Well, we were in luck...so Steve spent the next hour or so giving the truck a "quick" wash...mainly getting all of the dust off.

After finishing the truck, we headed back down Estrella Parkway towards a shopping area that we had passed yesterday on the way to Bob and Donna's. I remember seeing a Great Clips salon and Steve wanted to get a haircut.
Estrella is really a lovely community...on the outskirts is the Estrella Star Tower. Apparently you can climb up it and see for miles...it's also lit up at nighttime, looking very cool...

There are also 72 acres of lakes...quite an oasis in the desert...

I checked out Safeway (I'll have to pick up some groceries later in the week) while Steve got his haircut and then we headed back home. This is a picture of the golf course as we turned off Estrella Parkway...

And the turnoff into Tres Rios Golf Course where we are camped...

It was going on 2:00 when Ken and Charlene arrived. They had rented a car so that they could get out and see the area. We decided to go out for a late lunch/early dinner, so Steve suggest a restaurant that we had gone to with Earl and Allison back in January when we went helmet shopping. Sweet Tomatoes is about 28 miles northeast of here in Peoria.

We enjoyed a nice leisurely lunch...and then headed back to our place. On the way we spotted a Joe Trader's store and decided to stop and take a look. It is basically a grocery store, carrying quite a variety of items that may not be found at other traditional grocery stores...;it wasn't really what we were expecting it to be but at least I can say that I've been to a Joe Trader's store now. It's the home of "Three Buck Chuck" wine...a cheap ($2.99) and fairly palatable wine. It used to be called "Two Buck Chuck" but the price has obviously gone up.

Back at our place, we sat outside chatting around our Campfire-in-a-Can...a great end to the day...
