Thursday, March 13, 2014 (Indian Waters RV Resort, Indio, CA)

We were up bright and early this morning...looking forward to seeing Charlene and Dennis again. Our friends from Blythe were on a bit of a road trip for a few days and were here in the Palm Springs area. Today they were going to pick us up and we were going to go to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway...
"Aboard the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, World’s Largest Rotating Tramcar, you will experience a breathtaking journey up the sheer cliffs of Chino Canyon. Begin the 10 minute ride at the Valley Station – elevation 2,643 ft. and end at the Mountain Station – elevation 8,516 ft. No matter what the season, whether you are enjoying spectacular views or hiking in a pristine wilderness, a one-of-a-kind experience can be had by all."
Steve had just gotten into the shower when I checked my email and there was a note from Charlene...Dennis had had seafood for dinner last night and was sick. He was still not well this morning, so they had to cancel our trip and were heading right back to Blythe. Although disappointed, Steve and I totally understood...poor Dennis, we hope he is feeling better! Charlene felt bad about sending a note and not calling...well, that's my fault...we don't have any minutes left on our Tracfone so I was supposed to give her our Talkatone number, but I forgot...oops!

With the change in our plans for today, we decided that we would just chill out around here. We really didn't do much....I read and we watched some PVR'd TV shows. Later in the morning, we got out for a walk around the resort and also spent some time at the pool in the afternoon. Of course, we took our camera but totally forgot to take any pictures, so you are getting a blog post without any pictures...for a change!

Late in the afternoon, we were sitting inside with the air-conditioner on, when Steve thought he'd check the weather forecast...there were some rather dark clouds moving in. Well, instead of rain clouds, it was a big dust storm due to high winds. I mentioned that that was odd because it wasn't windy out...well, I no sooner said that when the wind storm hit. So we had quite the wind/dust storm that rocked us for bit before it moved through. We also had had a teeny bit of rain this morning and of course we had the rig detailed the day before...figures.

And that was pretty much our day...oh, one thing we did start doing was researching our route home...yes, we start our trek north on Monday...
