It was the start to another gorgeous day...we didn’t want to lolly-gag around too long this morning...let’s get the laundry done early, so we have the rest of the day to play.
We were sitting at the kitchen table having our breakfast when I said to Steve....”is that a dog over there or a coyote?” Sure enough it was not just one coyote but two...Steve quickly grabbed the camera and took these pictures...
We arrived at the coin laundry shortly after 10:00...a little dicey driving the truck back in behind the building to where the laundry was, but we made it fine, parked and after carting our 3 bags of laundry in, we were on our way to a fun filled couple of hours...haha!
After the laundry was all done, we stopped to fuel up the truck and then headed home. I quickly put the laundry away while Steve got the bikes ready. We were going to ride the bikes up to the trailhead and then go for a hike...we thought we’d take the bird trail, a short 1 mile loop. Nothing like going for a hike in the heat of the mid-day...it was after 1:30...pretty darned warm, especially when out of the breeze.
Such a beautiful ride down to the trailhead...it was a very busy Sunday; the parking lot was full and vehicles were parked along the roadway. We locked the bikes at the bike rack and then were on our way...
Very lush, green area...
Up we go...
Wow, look at the arms on that Saguaro Cactus...
...and back down...
Flowering cactus...
And we're finished our hike...
We enjoyed our walk...nothing too strenuous like the hike we did to Romero Pools last week, but still some good exercise. On our ride home, we decided to ride through both campgrounds...riding all loops. It was close to 3:00 when we got home...all together, we had ridden/walked just over 7 miles.
While Steve was loading the bikes back onto the rack, Rob and his wife, Barb stopped by...they are the couple from Penticton. After chatting with them for a bit, Steve finished loading the bikes while got our chairs out and started to read my book.
We both sat outside for a bit reading our books before going inside to check if either Rob or Chris (our sons) were on Skype...as it turned out Chris was on. We had a great chat with him and after saying goodbye; we took a drink and headed over for a visit with Rob and Barb.
As the sun went down and the wind picked up, we said our goodbyes and headed home. There is supposed to be a wind storm coming in...hopefully, we can make it to Lake Pleasant tomorrow without any weather issues.
