Tuesday, January 31, 2012 (Val Vista Village RV Resort, Mesa, AZ)

We had a very lazy day today...and we really enjoyed it.  After our usual coffee time, we decided we should get our resistance exercises over with...and get on with the day.  There was a light cloud covering out there this morning...but it clearned up eventually and was a warm beautiful day.

We thought we should get out for a good power walk...we have been lacking a cardio workout...but we didn’t get far before Steve’s knee/leg started bothering him.  He doesn’t know what he did to it but vaguely remembers something happening on our last ATV ride...he must have twisted it or something.  It’s odd that he has a knee problem...it’s me who has the bad knees.  So we basically went around the block and were back sitting outside with Suzanne where she applied some Voltarin to Steve’s leg...that along with a couple of anti-inflammatory Advil will hopefully help.

After lunch we rode our bikes over to the office so that I could fax our contact lens prescription to Costco...nothing can seem to go smoothly...we found out after calling them that they could not fill the prescriptions because they were outdated...sheesh!  However, the problem was quickly remedied after I sent an email to our eye doctor.  They quickly faxed updated prescriptions to the Mesa Costco...our contacts are now on order and should be in within the next week.

We have not had any neighbours move in since Coit and Lucy left yesterday...it's nice but I doubt that the site will remain empty for long, but for now we are enjoying the open space...

Steve went for a bike ride then relaxed outside “playing” on my new iPad while I baked cookies inside.  When Dennis and Suzanne returned home from their appointment, we all donned our swim suits and rode our bikes to the pool in the Fiesta section.  It’s not as busy as the main pool.   Suzanne enjoying the hot tub...

...and this is Dennis (floating on his back) and Steve in the pool...

After a dip in the pool and the hot tub, we relaxed on the lounge chairs soaking in the sunshine.  After a bit, we headed home...time to get out of our wet bathing suits and get ready for happy hour.  Steve and Dennis had to go take a look at our neighbour’s new motorcycle.  Dave and Ellen (from Saskatchewan) have a park model across the street from us and Dave had just picked up his BMW motorcycle in Scottsdale today.  Of course, Steve and Dennis also had to go take a look at this unique motorcycle that was down the street from us...

Dave had joined us as we sat outside enjoying a drink when his wife returned with a bunch of friends...they had all been at the Music in the Courtyard where a popular band had been playing.  They invited us to join them at their place....it was close to dinner time, so Suzanne and I declined while Steve and Dennis thought they would pop over for a few minutes.

When the “few minutes” grew into “a while”, I decided to walk over...I ended up joining them all.  We stayed for another drink...Steve took this picture but unfortunately most of the women had gone inside for a moment...

It was about 7:30 when we decided to head home...it was a little late to cook the dinner we had planned, so instead we had soup and sandwiches.  Tomorrow Suzanne and I are going to the mall...time for a little shopping...or at least some browsing!
