It was a much cooler day with broken clouds and a light wind...which got a little stronger as the day progressed. We drove to Cienega Springs Road which is off highway 95 and found a spot to offload the quads. There were already several other vehicles there and more and more were arriving as we got ready to head off. I was amazed at the number of vehicles either stopping to offload their 4-wheelers or just carrying on...there was a steady stream and there is also that 4 Wheelers Jeep Rally...so it’s going to be busy out there!
We were finally ready to go...Steve thought that the Desert Bar was about 25 miles away but next thing we knew, we were there. It was only about 5 miles...guess it must have been 25 minutes (in a vehicle driving on a bumpy gravel road) not miles.
...and walked across the covered footbridge...
We were just in time for the band to start playing so we grabbed a beer and sat down at a table to watch...
The Bob Gulley Band was awesome...
Everyone was having a great time...
There is seating all over the place...
A bench and rocking chair made out of horseshoes...also a cactus behind me...very cool...
Even a game of horseshoes happening...
Steve walked up the hill to take some pictures...
There is a collection of old vehicles...
Hmmm...that's a rather dark cloud looming over the mountain...
On the way back we decided to check out one of the many trails in the area...
We really didn't do much riding, but we sure had a great afternoon!
