Monday, November 19, 2012 (Travel to Midland LTVA, Blythe, CA)

It was mid morning by the time we were ready to leave our spot at Oxbow and head back to Blythe...Serena took us a different route back, going across the bridge, through Cibola and then turning north at that point.  Here we are crossing another bridge...so we basically crossed into Arizona when we left Oxbow and then back into California...

We passed a palm plantation...

We stopped at Miller Park in Blythe to fill our fresh water tanks and then found the sani-dump, a few blocks away.  It's a brand new sani-dump but there is no fresh water...very goofy setup.  After that was all taken care of, we headed north a short distance to the Midland LTVA (long term visitors area)...

Upon entering the area, we pulled over and walked over to the camp host site, a very friendly couple from Yakima, Washington.  We purchased a 14 day pass ($40) and then set off to find our spot in the desert.  It didn’t take long and after positioning the rig east-west so that the solar panels could be tilted south for full sun exposure, we unhitched.

After getting all unpacked, it was time to relax.

This is looking southwest from our spot...

The area is not very busy...I'd say about twenty or so rigs spread out.  The pictures don't really do justice...it's really quite beautiful...in it's own way, of course.
