Monday, October 15, 2012 (Lone Rock Campground, Lake Powell, Glen Canyon National Rec Area, Utah)

We had a relaxing start to the day...Steve got a great shot of the sun coming up over the mountain...

After stocking up with groceries yesterday, today was laundry day...I don’t think that we have ever had so much to do at once!

It was late morning by the time we headed off to Page...to find a coin laundry.  It wasn't difficult to find the laundry that just happened to be in the same complex as Safeway.  Excellent...I will be able to pick up some fresh vegetables too.

Needless to say the next couple of hours were spent in the Laundromat...I must admit that this is the only part of being a full-time RV’er that I don’t care for...oh well.  After the laundry was done, I picked up a few things at Safeway and then we decided to take the main street in Page...Lake Powell Blvd is a loop that goes through the business district of this small city.  This is the library...

Golf course...the brilliant green looks so out of place with the rest of the countryside...

After taking the loop drive, we crossed the highway to Scenic View Drive and found a viewpoint. There was a bit of a walk down to it...

Glen Canyon Dam...

Colorado River...

Back on the highway, we drove by Glen Canyon Dam...where the Colorado River is dammed to form Lake Powell.  We will be stopping at the centre another time...so stay tuned for more on that.

And here we are...back at the turnoff to Lone Rock...

When we got home, Steve decided to offload the boat while I put the laundry away.  We are going to take the boat out for a ride on the lake tomorrow.  Beautiful sunset tonight...
