Friday, October 26, 2012 (Lake Havasu State Park, Lake Havasu City, AZ)

It was a very windy day today...at least it was a warm wind, not like at Williams when the wind just cut through you.  After our usual coffee start to the day, we did our exercises, had breakfast, showered and were ready to head out.  Our main plan for today was grocery shopping...but first of all we went for a drive over the London Bridge and out onto “the islands”, as they call it.  We will be back to see the bridge and take pictures...looks like a really cool touristy area, so we will walk the area tomorrow.

We easily found Safeway...I went in to do the shopping while Steve went for a haircut.  After that, we headed back down the highway to Walmart and did a little more shopping there.  And that was our exciting afternoon.

After stopping for propane, we headed back to the park.  On the way in, we asked the attendant about site #10...it was available one night, then reserved again.  She gave us a couple of other sites that would be available after the weekend...we’ll check them out and decide later.

After we unloaded the groceries from the truck and put them away, we went for a walk to check out the other sites.  Number 34, basically across the road and down a couple of sites, is nice...now we just have to decide if it is worth moving.  I wouldn’t mind moving and then staying for a full week until after next weekend but with no internet service...I’m not sure if I want to do that.  It really sucks not having internet...we can’t research our next stop...I am getting way behind on our blog...it is amazing how much both Steve and I are both on-line.  A lot of people couldn’t care less about having internet service, but we are full-time RVers, not just on vacation.

While out on our walk, we stopped and talked to some fellow BCers...from Whistler.  They are in a campervan on a 6 week vacation.  Big into hiking and mountain-biking, we had a great chat about the area’s hiking trails.  They told us about the hike they had done today and we told them about a great bike area...McDowell Mountain Regional Park near Fountain Hills (we were there last year).

After a brief chat with Harry (from across the road), we sat down (behind the trailer, out of the wind) for a cocktail before heading inside for the evening.  Hopefully, the wind will be gone by tomorrow...we have lots of exploring to do!
