Monday, October 18, 2010 (Myrtle Beach, SC)

I was up early again this morning. I am obviously a morning person...mind you, I think this cold has something to do with it. Sure wish I could get rid of it!

After our usual relaxing start to the day, we headed out for a short walk on the beach. It was another gorgeous day...the forecast was low 80’s again...pretty darned nice! I didn’t take my camera this time because I figured I had enough pictures of the beautiful white sandy beach and clear blue skies...LOL!

When we returned to the trailer, we noticed that a 5th wheel just down the road was getting washed by a mobile RV cleaning company...Keep It Clean RV Detailing. Our home sure needed a washing...and it has never been waxed. We had planned taking it to the RV Spa at CampingWorld back in early July when we were in Burlington, Washington, but that had not worked out...and as you can imagine, waxing a 37 foot 5th wheel is quite a job (washing it is bad enough!). Hmmmm....I wonder how much they charge?...so Steve wandered over to find out. After a short chat with the fellow, he returned...$80 for a wash, $270 for a wash and wax. We hummed and hawed for about 2 seconds and decided that although a lot of money, it would be well worth it. So back Steve went to book it. As it turned out, they could do it today. They would be right over when they finished up and would wash the trailer; then return later on this afternoon to wax it.

We immediately moved everything away from the outside of the trailer and within a half hour there were 3 fellows working on it. One was up on the roof spraying on a roof treatment while one had a long-handled brush and bucket of soapy water and the other had a power sprayer. They worked on the trailer for about an hour...and then moved onto another RV. They have quite a business here!

This afternoon we decided to try out the pool. After donning our swim suits and gathering our towels, we headed over. We basically had the whole outside pool to ourselves (a few other couples joined us a little later). We selected our lounge chairs and went into the pool...wowza...that’s cold! I guess it is nice during the summer months when the temperature is in the 100’s....but it was just a little too refreshing for me. Steve jumped in and had a nice swim...trying to convince me that it wasn’t so bad once you were numb...I jumped in and headed for the closest ladder out! No wonder there were more people at the indoor pool!
We spent an hour and a half sunning and then returned to the 5th wheel...that was probably enough sun for today.

After changing, we walked up to the store for an ice cream...by the time we got back, it was going on 4:00...it was time for Steve to wash the truck. Everything was getting cleaned today...I just had the inside to do tomorrow. While I was inside making spaghetti sauce for dinner tonight, the crew returned to wax the trailer.

It was after 6:00 by the time they had finished waxing the trailer...and it was after 7:00 (and dark) by the time Steve had finished washing the truck. Everything outside was clean...well almost everything...just the bicycles to wash tomorrow. I’ll do the inside tomorrow...that won’t take nearly as long as the outside!!
