Monday, January 7, 2013 (Travel to Leaf Verde RV Resort, Buckeye, AZ)

We woke to clear sky this morning...unfortunately, my head wasn't as clear; but it was better than it was yesterday...darned sinuses!  We weren't in any hurry this morning since checkout time isn't until noon and we only have about an hour and a half drive to Buckeye.

We were a little concerned about getting out of our site since we barely made it in without scraping the bottom of the bike rack on the ground…especially with the added weight in the black/grey tanks.  But all was good…we made it out without scraping…barely.

After a stop at the sani-dump, we were on our way...it was about 11:30.  We had been having trouble with keeping Serena (our GPS) charged...the well-used 12V cord's connection was not doing it job anymore.  And of course, her battery doesn't seem to hold a charge very long either...so we basically lost her on the way.  Good thing we just had to make our way to the I-10 and head west.

We made our way to Leaf Verde RV Resort and after checking in, were escorted to our site.  We are in the overnight section...not really much of an "it" factor for us, but it is fine for the two nights we are here.  Too bad they didn't take us in the opposite way so that our door would be on the sun side...oh well. Note the two sewer vent stacks..never seen those before in any campsite.

As we were starting to get set up, Leonie and Armand stopped by.  We chatted with them for awhile and then they left to let us finish getting set up...inviting us over for happy hour a little later.

We finished getting set up and then went to Walmart to see if we could find a new cord for Serena...no luck...guess we will have to go to Best Buy tomorrow.

As soon as we got back we went over to have a visit with Leonie and Armand. Our attempts to connect last year didn't work out so this is the first time that we have seen them since we first met back in September 2010.  We enjoyed the sun outside but once it went down, it got quite chilly so we headed inside to continue our visit.

It was just after 6:00 when we ended our happy "hour" and headed home. We have made plans for tomorrow...they have generously offered to drive us to Best Buy.
