So "baby news" took up most of our day. Steve sent a text to Rob shortly after 7:00 a.m. wishing them luck...a c-section was scheduled for 7:50 a.m. We received a text from Rob at 7:49 a.m...."Here we go!" We were waiting for news so other than do our resistance exercises, we didn't do anything...neither one of us wanted to be in the shower when news came. So we waited patiently. At 9:00 when we hadn't heard anything, we started to get a little worried...by 10:00 we started fearing the worst; had something gone wrong?...at 10:30 when we still hadn't hear anything, I couldn't stand it any longer and sent Rob a text. His response..."Didn't you get the picture I sent 45 minutes ago?" NO, we didn't! He re-sent it and we were so relieved to see our new healthy little grandson!
It was a fine day to stay inside anyway...other than a beautiful sunrise...
...the clouds soon took over and before we knew it, the rain started and it was "socked-in" for most of the day. I took this picture out our door...the mountains are barely visible!
And that was basically our day...I didn't even leave the trailer today and Steve only went out to start the generator.
We are just so thrilled to be grandparents! And can hardly wait to hold the tiny bundle...but that is going to have to wait until we get home in early March. In the meantime, we will rely on Skype...thank goodness for technology! The hospital doesn't have WiFi so we will have to wait until Angie and Connor get home before we can Skype. Hopefully, they will be home on Monday. Angie's mom, Linda, arrives Monday night to lend a helping hand to the new mom. I am so envious! Not being there for the birth of our first grandchild ended up being tougher than I expected and was very emotional for me...I just want to hold him! Connor easily stole our hearts and is already so loved...exciting times ahead!
I am so excited for you and he looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Janie and John! We are absolutely thrilled to be grandparents!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry Dianne! The baby will be more alert, Angie and Rob will be more seasoned parents and less stressed out by the time March comes along. You'll be able to spend all your time cuddling him and taking him for walks and just enjoying his every little movement.
ReplyDeleteI spoke with Ang today and she said Rob has been just wonderful. He has changed every diaper and has been so relaxed with him. He has been coughing up the amniotic fluid, which apparently is normal and Rob has been a pro at helping him to do that and hasn't panicked one little bit unlike Angela. You must be so proud of him!
Allen & I are so happy for you both. Grandchildren are such a blessing! In a few years, they will be asking to go to Nana and Papa's RV.
