We had a very relaxing morning. After exercises, we had breakfast, showered and once we were ready for the day, I spent the rest of the morning at the table with the laptop and phone. I called the La Paz County Hospital in Parker, AZ to find out why I was getting more bills from them. Turned out the remaining balance on my account (that had mysteriously appeared after I had paid my bill in full before leaving the hospital) had been zero'd out. Next I called Sunset Physicians about another bill I had just received. Apparently, the bill I paid before leaving the hospital did not include the doctor's fees...sheesh! So I had another bill to pay and submit for reimbursement...just when I thought I was all finished with it!
Dennis and Suzanne came to pick us up at about 12:30...today we are going for a scenic drive up into the mountains. After stopping at Walgreen for a decongestant for me and cough syrup for Dennis, and then gas, we were on our way southwest on highway 74...up and up a very windy road.
We stopped at a lookout...what a view! That's the Salton Sea in the distance...
That's the road we were on...in the distance...Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, Thousand Palms,Cathedral City, Palm Desert...Indio is just out of view on the right...
My crazy sister-in-law...nice t-shirt!
Snow on the mountain tops...
Beautiful scenery...
We drove 5 miles off highway 74 to Idyllwild...
...and into some snow...
Idyllwild is a cool little Bavarian-style town...elevation 5,303 feet. Indio is 1 ft above sea level...
Steve in the snow!
After a restroom break at a gas station, we were on our way. On the way down the other side of the mountain...that's the city of Hemet in the distance...
Quite the road down...very windy...but we made it and are now heading north to I-10...
We took I-10 east...windmill farm...
We stopped at the huge statue of Marilyn Monroe...very cool...Steve...what are you looking at?!
...brrr...it's darn chilly out...
We drove the loop around back to Indio...what a great afternoon! Suzanne had dinner planned so we went to their place. We had had another wonderful day...tomorrow we are going to Cabazon to the Factory Outlet stores. However, I think Dennis and Steve will likely go to the nearby casino!
What a wonderful afternoon... spectacular scenery!!!
