It was a cool, chilly day as we headed out...but there were bits of blue sky peeking through.
Steve took a bunch of Go Pro videos of our ride then just took snapshots from it. We rode to a nearby neighbour where Red wanted to get some clarification on some of the trails but they weren't home so we turned around...

With all of the heavy rain yesterday there was lots of water to play in...
That's a lot of culverts...
The shallow river flows over the road...
That's a big puddle!
Yee..hawwww!!!
We drove for a few miles on the paved road to the Wolf Pen Gap trail head...
Red checking out the trail map...
Unfortunately all of the trails were closed for the winter so it was more road riding...
We stopped at the last river crossing for lunch...
An old tractor...
And a little further up an old sawmill...
Beautiful property...
The fall colours are beautiful...
We were back home around 2:00. Thanks for a great ride guys! So nice getting out on the 4-wheelers and seeing the area.
Red had gotten a call that his partners in an RC plane were at the RC airfield so the guys left us girls to hose down the 4 wheelers. Red supplied the plane kit and the fellow on the right built it. Today they are assembling it and giving it a test run...
Flipping the prop to start it could be a little dangerous...
It was too windy to fly it so they took turns doing taxi runs back and forth on the runway. It was a good thing too, because some of the screws kept vibrating out so some modifications will be required before an actual flight.
The guys got home just after 4:00...to find Pam and I sitting outside crocheting/knitting. They got a fire going and we spent another evening together around the campfire...fabulous!
I heard heavy rain through the night but didn't fully wake up...however, Sunday morning, it was evident that it had rained. Where has that sunshine and warm weather gone?!
We didn't do much today...Pam and I went into town for a couple of things and then sat outside with our crocheting/knitting. Steve put the trailer hitch back together and then helped Red do some work in the barn.
We had a campfire before dinner and then Red and Steve grilled chicken for dinner and we went inside our place to eat. After dinner, the guys went back out to sit by the fire. Pam finished her glass of wine and then went home.

Monday was another pretty laid-back day. It was a rainy, socked-in day...an inside kinda day. Steve worked on picture editing while I made sauce for lasagne for dinner tonight.
Pam and I went into town again...and after the errands were done, we stopped for lattes at our favourite little coffeehouse...
Back home, I baked muffins and prepare dinner while Steve joined Red out in the barn. A little later, Pam came over and we enjoyed wine and good conversation...I'm really enjoying our "girl time" together!
At 6:30 the guys joined us and we had our final dinner together. We've enjoyed their hospitality for 10 days...but it's now time to move on....

Nice spending time doing things you like with Good friends.
ReplyDeleteHope you had an equally nice Christmas Celebration.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Thanks guys...we sure did.
DeleteThe fall colors on your ATV ride look great. Although it rained I am sure it was nice to spend time with theme!
ReplyDeleteThe rain the day before made for a dust free ride. Running into Bill, Pat and Bridget was a bonus while visiting Red and Pam.
DeleteI'm a fan of the go-pro pictures on the rides. It's like we get a ride along too. Good to have had the rain, puddles are fun to ride through and no dust. Good times.
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice to post some videos too if we had the data. You gotta get your machine down south too!
