Wednesday, December 31, 2014 (La Posa South LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ)

We woke to the sound of light rain on the trailer roof this morning...well, to me it sounded more like frozen sleet.
It was also very cold...hovering around 31F, and sure enough, the surrounding mountains had a light dusting of snow on them. That's a first for us here in Quartzsite! We've had it before in Tombstone and Tucson. So much for global warming!?

Late morning we had company come by. Jim and Barb, fellow RV-Dreamers, are in the area for a couple of days and stopped by to meet us. We asked Red and Pam over as well to meet them. We had a lovely hour or so chatting...love this lifestyle...we have met so many wonderful folks! Jim and Barb are new to full-timing, having just retired last March...they also keep a blog...Jim and Barb's RV Adventure. Red, Pam, Jim and Barb...

We chilled inside for awhile...it is so cold and windy outside! And then headed across to Pam and Red's place at 3:00. We enjoyed a cocktail there and then we all walked down to Bob and Sue's for a drink with the gang. There are twelve of them gathering for a New Year's Eve dinner celebration. (It's not like us to forget taking a picture.)  We had been invited also but with Red and Pam here, that would have been sixteen...just a little too crowed for Bob and Sue's trailer, so we bowed out, opting to celebrate with Red and Pam at their place

We played a few games of 'Joker' which is another slightly different version of the marble game that we have played for years. Then Pam cooked a delicious dinner. We "rang" in the New Year early and were home around 9:00. It was a lovely New Year's Eve celebration but I must admit that I had been looking forward to a big campfire and potluck dinner like we had last year...darned weather!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
We Wish You
All the Best in 2015!

  2. It was awesome meeting you and Steve as well as Red and Pam. I think we took the cold weather south with us to Yuma so hopefully it will warm up there. Hope to see you down the road somewhere!
