Saturday, March 17, 2012 (Sam’s Town RV Resort, Las Vegas, NV)

This morning I decided I had better get the laundry done so I got started on that while Steve went with Dennis to Camping World.  Dennis needed to get a new water pump for his coach and Steve wanted to pick up a ‘Mountain Directory’ book he had seen there.  I was still doing laundry when they returned...at least I got a little exercises walking back and forth...back and forth...to the laundry room.

Dennis was busy installing the new water pump while Steve decided to walk over to Walmart for bungee cords (he wanted to get better ones to help hold the bike rack tighter to the back of the trailer) and to Radio Shack...for batteries.  Two of the Tire Pressure & Temp Sensors stopped working on our way to Vegas. The batteries are supposed to be changed yearly and it's been a little longer than that.

At about 2:00 we all headed over to catch the shuttle down to the Vegas Strip.  Sam’s Town has a free shuttle so we decided to catch the 2:40 one and we will either catch the last shuttle back at 7:20 or share a cab back.  That cold front was moving in as predicted and it was getting pretty windy out...and darned cold from what we had been experiencing.

Of course...being a Saturday...and St. Patrick’s Day...it was just packed down there!  I just can’t get used to people walking along the street carrying alcoholic drinks!  What an experience...I felt like a country munchkin in the big city!!

The shuttle dropped us off at Harrah’s...

...and after walking through there, we headed out to "The Strip"...and towards The Venetian...this picture is taken on our way into the hotel...

The ceiling as you entered the casino...very cool...
Inside The Venetian...
Yes, this is inside...
Quite amazing...

We left The Venetian...and headed to The Wynn.  Yup...this is Vegas...

The Trump Building...and lots of traffic...

Inside The Wynn...

After walking through The Wynn, we walked back and stopped at The Imperial Palace to try out the slots...and have a couple of drinks.  Wow, what a busy busy place!  We stayed there for a bit and then decided we would continue along the Strip but as we walked out of the casino, there were crowds of people lined up for taxi’s...it was just pouring out!

After going a couple of blocks in the pouring rain, we decided that this wasn't much fun so we turned around and headed back to Harrah’s...we were soaked but at least Suzanne and I had hoods on our coats...Dennis and Steve were worse off!  It was just 5:30 when we got to Harrah's, let’s see if there is an earlier shuttle that we can catch back to Sam’s Town.  Thankfully, there was one at 6:00...and it was a good thing we got there early...it ended up being packed.

The traffic was horrific as the driver made his way out of the area and back along Flamingo Drive to Sam’s Town.  Once there, Suzanne treated us to dinner with her winnings...she had hit a very nice jackpot at The Imperial Palace!

After a feast of Chinese food at Sam’s Town, we tried our luck out for awhile at the slots.  Steve and I headed home at around 8:00.  Dennis and Suzanne were not far behind and popped over for visit before calling it a night.
