Bob and Sue walked up to say goodbye...they are heading back to Quartzsite today. Bob and Sue are from Prince George, BC and belong to the local ATV club there. They plan on attending the ATVBC Poker Ride this June in Merritt, so we will see them there. Earl and Allison belong to the Comox Valley ATV Club and think they may attend as well...it will be great to reconnect with everyone there.
After hugs and handshakes, Bob and Sue were on their way...and so were we...off on our ATV’s to hit the trails again today. We’re off to find more geocaches too. Here is Steve checking geocache co-ordinates with Earl...
Hedgehog Cactus in bloom...
Steve found the cache we were looking for...this one is called "tool box"...
Up we go...
Beautiful Views...
Corral in the middle of nowhere...with solar powered water pump...
That's an old mine site in the distance, on the right...
We found the "Big Rock" geocache...
Then found a spot in the shade to have lunch...
After lunch, we continued on to find the "Valentine" geocache...
The "Roads End" geocache...
And "Fran's Cactus" geocache...
We arrived home just before 4pm...another great day of riding! After getting changed and cleaned up, we drove the truck over to the rodeo grounds where there was a water tap and filled up our water containers.
Our neighbours, Jim and Lena came over for a visit and a beer while we sat outside and then Earl and Allison joined us. They have decided they might as well leave tomorrow since their ATV is broken down (they were going to leave Wednesday). Luckily they are headed towards Scottsdale and will be able to take it in for servicing...sounds like it is going to be covered under warranty...thank goodness. As usual, it cooled down as the sun went behind the mountain...but it’s time to go get dinner going anyway. As we were putting our chairs away, a fellow stopped by and introduced himself. Ron is in the bus down at the other end of the campground. He was intrigued by the truck and chatted with us for a bit and then invited us down to his place for dinner tomorrow night...he and his wife, Jean are from Nebraska...nice folks.
