Tuesday, November 6, 2018 (Travel to Walmart, Wichita Falls, Texas)

We said goodbye to Pam at about 8:00 this morning...she is off to Dallas to visit family for a few days. With us leaving today too, it leaves Red with only Cody and Dominic (their dogs) as company. He's probably going to enjoy the quiet! LOL

After we were all packed and hitched back up, we pulled the rig over to dump the tanks and then it was time to say goodbye to Red. Thanks to both of you for your hospitality...we had such a good time! We'll see you in Quartzsite!

Once back on the highway, we headed west and it wasn't long before we crossed into Oklahoma...
Here are some pictures of the beautiful scenery as we went from Arkansas, through Oklahoma and into Texas...

They're not all pictures of rivers! LOL
Red River...
 Texas!
As we drove west on highway 195, Serena (GPS) told us to go straight onto a small county road...this is an example of determining whether you should follow the directions on the GPS or follow the highway signs. Turns out we should have followed the highway signs and turned left, continuing on highway 195. Instead we ended up on a very rough narrow raised section of dirt road...and some major construction! I think the construction workers were wondering why the heck a rig our size was taking this road!
And a few miles further on another section of road construction...
We finally got through it all! These clouds formations were long narrow bands that appeared to meet on the horizon...
Beautiful horse ranch....
Driving through Saint Jo, Texas...

Hmmm....looks like a huge heavy equipment graveyard....

Approaching Wichita Falls....

It was around 4:30 when we pulled into the Lawrence Street Walmart in Wichita Falls.
We went inside to make sure it was okay to park for the night...no problem as long as we were at the end of the lot. We decided to only put out the bedroom slide.

Steve found out that there was a Sport Clips nearby, his favourite place for a haircut so he set off in that direction. If you are a new customer or had never been to that location you get the MVP treatment which includes a head massage while having a shampoo, then a hot steamed towel on the face while laying in a massage chair. You then return to your chair for a neck and back massage then your hair is blow-dried!

I went inside Walmart to pick up a couple of things. We both arrived back at the trailer at the same time...and then headed off to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner.

    1. This was worse than anything we experienced on our Alaska trip. All of our tires were were pretty dirty by the time we got through there.

  2. Now the posts are flyin' good work! I can only imagine the words on that dirt road! My GPS may have been in that dirt at that point. Was Steve looking for a haircut or a man spa ? lol
