Sunday, November 25, 2018 (Travel to Catalina State Park, Tucson, AZ)

We woke to clear skies...the start of another beautiful day! We had a lazy start to the day...we weren't in any hurry because our destination, Catalina State Park, is only about 45 minutes away.

We both pulled out of our sites just after 11:00 and made our way to the sani-dump. Once finished, though, we had a hellava time getting out because of a sharp curve with a curb...not enough turning radius for our long rig. Steve thought he was going to have to back out but Dave came over and directed him by getting the front truck tire as close to the curb...and very slowly, he manoeuvred around the sharp curve...whew! Thanks for the help, Dave!

And were off...

 Downtown Tucson...
We pulled into Catalina State Park just before 1:00....
This is our 4th time here and we have always managed to get site A43. Dave and Leslie arrived a few minutes later...into site A41, right beside us....
A nice long back in site...
After we were all set up, Steve took the bikes off the back of the trailer and we took a ride around loop B to find out where Dale and Ruth were. They have invited us all over for happy hour and dinner tonight...
Once back home, we relaxed outside for an hour before it was time to get ready to walk over to Ruth and Dale's. At 4:30, with chairs and beverages in hand, we walked over...Sherry was also there. She was down from Cottonwood visiting family...good timing for us to be able to see her too!
Dave preparing some steak-bites as an appetizer...yum!
We enjoyed drinks outside around the propane campfire while Dale fired up his new smoker and started smoking the chicken...

When dinner was ready, we all headed inside to eat...the girls sat at the table...
Dave and Steve cosied up on the couch, using a very cool coffee table that raises up...
...and Dale sat at Ruth's desk...
The chicken Dale cooked on the smoker was absolutely fabulous....a delicious dinner!

After a great evening with lots of laughs...good food and good company...we called it a night and headed home. Thanks so much, Ruth and Dale! It was also so nice seeing Sherry here as we won't be going to Cottonwood this year.
