It was shortly before 10:00 on a beautiful, sunny morning when we pulled out of the RV park and made our way back to highway 97...continuing north to the Canadian Border.
This is the Okanogan River...we see, and cross, it a few times...
Oroville is the last community we pass through just before the border crossing...
Osoyoos Lake...more orchards and vineyards...
The signs leading up to the border said that there was a 15 minute wait...well, from past experience, that usually means you can triple that....
And 45 minutes later we were through...back into BC...
...and Osoyoos, a beautiful resort community on Osoyoos Lake. The majority of the lake is on the Canadian side of the border...
There are two spits of land that almost meet in the middle of the lake with a bridge crossing that will take us to the other side...
It was about noon when we pulled into Nk'mip RV Park...
...and were greeted with waves from Doug and Sue (the back of their site overlooks the park entrance)...thanks for the picture, Sue! We work-camped with them last summer at Monck Provincial Park...
We were assigned site C-49, but before taking it, we decided to walk up the hill and have a look. We were also greeted with big hugs from Sue and Doug...so good to see you! The site would be fine, so after confirming and paying our bill in the office, we made our way to the site, and had no problem backing in. We unhitched...and got on with our set up.
This is a great site that backs onto a nice large grassy area....
Doug and Sue popped over for a few minutes with Tucker...he remembered his "cookie auntie"! He knows exactly what pocket I keep the doggy treats in!
Steve and I had a quick bite to eat, then headed over to see Sue and Doug. Steve and Doug went back to our place to fix the connector on our satellite cable while Sue and I chatted. It wasn't long before Steve and Doug were back. Thanks for acquiring the cable end for us Doug! We sat in the sunshine for a bit and then all headed out for a walk around the campground. It has really changed since we were last here...way back in 1995!
This is a very busy park...
Its quite windy down near the lake...
The Weeping Willows are beautiful...
By the time we got back, it was time for....you got it...happy hour!!
Then Sue and Doug went back to their place...and returned with dinner! Steve grilled the burgers and we enjoyed burgers, potato salad and chips outside at the picnic table. Thanks for dinner, guys!!
After we had finished eating, it was starting to get a little chilly out so we retreated inside and continued our visit...and had dessert. A lovely evening catching up with good friends...looking forward to spending the next week with you! Just like old times...without the work part!
It is just like old times !!!
