After our usual start to the day, we decided to get out for a hike along the river before going into town. The trail is actually part of the Trans Canada Trail.
Trees growing out of stumps everywhere...
We've seen several fisherman but none with a fish...
A tree heavily draped in moss...
A beautiful stone house across the river...
We walked to the end of the riverside part of the trail....from there, it goes inland along a logging road...
About an hour and a half later, we were back home...what a great walk! Such beautiful scenery...and a lot greener from what we were used to after spending the winter in the Arizona desert!
We spent the afternoon in Chilliwack...doing a little shopping. Steve was after a new watch, so after stops at Canadian Tire, London Drugs...and checking out the mall, he ended up finding what he was after at Walmart. On our way home, we stopped at a park along the Chilliwack River where there is still cell/internet signal. I had our laptop and thought I would try to get at least one blog posted. Unfortunately, the internet signal was just too slow to download pictures...so the blog is just going to have to wait. We were, however, able to get caught up on some email messages.
As we pulled into the campground, we found that we had lots of new neighbours...it was Friday afternoon after all.
I was putting things away inside when I heard some noise...I looked out the back window and saw a couple of rafts running the rapids. I managed to grab the camera and take this picture. The river is popular for white water rafting. Looks like fun!
Hi Dianne and Steve. It is great to see you enjoy your hike on the Transcanada Trail. You brought a lot of great pictures as well.
