Around 8:30, we went down to the hotel restaurant for breakfast. We ran into Dwight, so he joined us for coffee. A little while later, Rob, Angie and Conner also joined us. Rob left at 9:30 to be at Chris's place by 10:00. He took Chris's car and we will go with Angie and Conner to be there around 11:00. We finished breakfast and then went upstairs to get ready.
Angie getting Conner changed into his tux ("just like daddy")...too bad we caught him with his eyes closed. I don't think he was particularly happy about having to put all these clothes on!
Rob (Best Man), Chris, me and Steve...we clean up not bad!
I was in charge of pinning all of the boutonnieres on the guys (I don't know how many times I poked my fingers with the pins...ouch!)...
Rob, Angie and Conner...
Conner loves the toy car that Uncle Chris and Auntie Angela got him...
The ceremony started shortly after 1:00. Conner didn't want to walk down the isle with the other kids, so Angie carried him...
And the beautiful bride! Lucy and Luigi walked Angela down the isle...a very emotional time!
About 45 minutes later, Mr. and Mrs. Chris and Angela Colibaba were presented to us!
Family pictures were taken on the veranda on the side of the church...
And then the bridal party took off in the limo for pictures at Deer Lake Park in Burnaby. Conner was hungry, so we stopped at McDonald's...yes...there we are all dolled up in our finest as we go into McDonald's for chicken mcnuggets! Too funny!
Angie dropped us off at Chris's place to pick up Chris's car and then we all headed back to the hotel...we had about an hour and a half to rest and get freshened up before having to be downstairs for the reception at 6:00.
At 5:45 we headed downstairs. Steve took a picture of the ballroom before the guests arrived...looking very nice!
Luigi, Lucy, Pina (Maid of Honour), Angela, Chris, Rob, Steve and I made up the receiving line greeting all of the guests as they arrived. I have never kissed (both) cheeks and shook so many hands...there were 180 guests! Steve claims this was the most action he has had in a long time...ha...ha.
Once all of the guests had arrived, we all lined up to enter the ballroom. We followed Luigi and Lucy but unfortunately, we weren't told that each couple was being announced and introduced, so we didn't wait for our turn...going in right behind Angela's parents. I felt bad about mucking up but oh well...no biggie!
The bridal party lined up in front of the table for pictures before sitting down...
Steve's uncle, the Reverend Gordon Oaks (from Edmonton) gave a lovely speech about the joining of the families....
Dinner was incredible! First course was Antipasto, followed by pasta, cabbage rolls and mushroom risotto...and then the main course, filet mignon, prawns and the most delicious potatoes! Everything was wonderful!
Me and my baby!...
Cutting of the cake...good thing Steve took pictures, I missed it...the one time I went to the restroom!
Bride and Groom dance...
Bride dancing with her dad...
Groom dancing with his mom...
Bride getting ready to throw her bouquet...
Groom removing the garter from the Bride...
And the garter toss...
It was about 2:00 a.m. when we finally crawled into bed...somehow, I don't think we'll have a problem sleeping tonight!
What a beautiful wedding! Steve and Diannne, your son is so handsome and your new daughter in law is beautiful. You two do clean up nicely! Love your dress, Dianne. Conner was adorable!!! Congratulations!
