Sunday, August 14, 2011 (Mt. Fernie Provincial Park, Fernie, BC)

We had a total “R’nR” day today!  After an extremely lazy start, we finally had breakfast at about 10:30.  We got the dishes done and “the kitchen” cleaned up and then it was time to sit down and download pictures and get the blog updated.

But before that, I let Steve have the laptop for a few minutes so that he could email the Elkford ATV Club.  We are heading there this Thursday and would like to connect with the club for a ride.  Unfortunately, our timing is not so great though...this weekend is the ATVBC AGM in Prince George but we are hoping that some club members will be staying home and will want to show us some of the trails in their area.

Steve was outside reading while I worked on our blog inside.  It was after 2:00 when he suggested we have a bite to eat then go for a walk.  I was just finishing up the blog...good timing!  Yeah...I guess we should get a little exercise today...
It wasn’t a big hike like we have been having lately, but a short walk through the day-use and overflow area and then down the trail to the creek.  We started to walk along another trail but decided to leave that for another day.  We were back to our site (and lounge chairs) within 30 minutes...well, it was some exercise in a very lazy day...

Cooking dinner ended up being a bit of a challenge tonight.  The oven decided to start acting up...after trouble lighting it, we got it going but once it reached temperature, it shut off.  Why do these things always happen just after you have had the trailer in for servicing?  So, our meatloaf dinner ended up being cooked on the barbeque....it worked.  I just had to keep monitoring the temperature because it is a very hot barbeque...even on low.
I read my book and we watched TV until it was time to head to bed...we have 3 more days here and still a few more things we want to do.  But there appears to be a bit of a cold front moving in, so hopefully the weather won’t be an issue...
