Saturday, Sunday and Monday, September 3, 4, and 5, 2016 (Leighton North Campground, Tunkwa Provincial Park, Logan Lake, BC)

Saturday we woke to a very chilly morning...it was also only 1.7 C (35F)...brrr!

By the time we had had our coffee and breakfast, it had warmed up...

...so Steve headed out fishing...

These sleeping ducks could care less that Steve was there...
Steve caught 3 fish...

While Steve was out on the lake, I decided to tackle a stack of receipts that had accumulated over the past 7 weeks...I had just been too busy to take the time to record them all. So today was the day! Whew, glad I got that chore all done!

Later in the afternoon, Steve got a campfire going. As you can tell by the dark clouds, the weather is not great...so the campfire was nice!
I'd say we're in for a little rain!
Sunday morning Steve and I decided to get out on the quads for a ride. So we bundled up...yeah, it was a whopping 10C (50F) outside today. Steve actually wore long-johns under his jeans and heavy socks. I decided on heavy socks that came up to my knees with my rain pants on to break the wind. Of course, we also had the handle-grip and thumb warmers turned on!

This picture doesn't capture how steep this hill really is...
Even from the bottom this photo doesn't really capture it...
We thought we'd ride to the town of Savona, north of here...
Kamloops Lake in the distance...
 The scenery is spectacular....

 That is Savona down there...
Down, down, down....we go...

Savona...
We drove down to the highway and turned around...and headed back up...

 Lunch with an awesome view!
Leighton Lake campgrounds in the distance...
We were gone about 3 hours...even though it was just road riding it was great just exploring the area!
Steve managed to get a shot of a Blue Heron from inside our rig...
Monday morning it was foggy again when we got up...but it soon cleared...
Today Steve is taking Doug out on a quad ride...it was 10:00 when they headed off. Doug was riding my quad...

They tried to find a back trail into Dominic Lake but all they found were dead end roads with lots of mud and water...
After returning back to the main road they eventually made their way to the lake...

Entrance to the Dominic Lake Resort that's been for sale for years...
Their destination is the top of Greenstone Mountain...
Doug washing Dianne's quad...
Lots of new windfalls since we were here last spring...

Tunkwa and Leighton Lakes in the distance...
Close up...
Kamloops...
Kamloops Lake...
That's a sheer cliff behind Doug...
Heading back it was time for a break...

While they were gone, I puttered around inside for a bit and then Sue came by and I grabbed a ride back to their place. As usual, I took Tucker for a walk. Sue and I were relaxing and chatting in the shelter in the compound when we heard Doug's truck...ah, ha...they must be back. They had been gone about 4 hours...and had had a good ride but had run into rain and hail cutting their ride short...

This couple rode by our site and inquired about our truck...
More rain again!
