Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, August 31, September 1, and 2, 2016 (Leighton North Campground, Tunkwa Provincial Park, Logan Lake, BC)

Wednesday we had blue sky again...awesome, but unfortunately, it is going to be short lived. Steve spent the morning continuing his setup outside...solar lights, barbecue, etc. He even off-loaded the quads.

He was successful with his homemade "mouse trap"...yes, we're back at Tunkwa where the mice and chipmunks are plentiful! There were a couple of mice and a chipmunk that decided to "go for a swim" last night....

Sue dropped Tucker off so that we could go for a walk...
Our site with a beautiful view of Leighton Lake out back...
Being at Leighton Lake, we are quite a ways away from Tunkwa Lake but it is a beautiful hike along a trail...Tucker and I have walked it many times!

Once I was back home, we had lunch and then I helped Steve off-load the boat...now all "toys" are out and ready for use! The boat is on the water's edge just to the left of that truck and cargo trailer (they are off loading their boat before getting set up in a campsite down the road from us).
Thursday morning Steve went out fishing bright and early (well...about 9:00). I puttered around inside and a little later Doug and Sue popped by. I grabbed a ride back to their place so that I could get Tucker. We walked back to our place and by the time we got there, Steve was just coming in off the lake.

Here are the pictures he took while out fishing...

Success!

Our rig on the right...
Steve only caught one fish today. We had lunch and then went for a walk around Leighton Lake. The horse campsites are full...

Campground across the lake...
Closeup of our rig on the left...

The cattle had just gotten down to the lake when they saw us coming...they high-tailed it outta there!

That's Tunkwa Lake...
Overlooking Leighton Lake and the campground in the distance...

The creek from Tunkwa Lake to Leighton Lake is now dry...
Tunkwa campsites on the spit...

When we arrived at the compound, Sue and Doug were taking a break in the shelter...so we joined them for a visit...
Then we said goodbye...leaving Tucker at home, and continued back home to Leighton Lake...

Our rig just to the right of me...

Okay, that was enough walking for today! Time to chill in the late afternoon sun! Ahhh....

Friday was a cool, rainy, socked-in kinda day, so we decided to drive into town and have lunch at the Pick and Shovel Pub...and take advantage of free wifi. We are way behind on our blog updates!

Here I am...all set up in my "office"...
After almost 5 hours, we'd had enough...well, at least I got a few updates done! It was after 5:30 by the time we got home.

The rain had left a beautiful double rainbow...
No pot of gold...
And a beautiful sunset that night...
