We were on the road at 8:30 this morning...a beautiful day to travel. This blog post is full of pictures as we head east to Alberta...
Mount Robson is looking majestic this morning!
Moose Lake...gorgeous!
Fraser River...
What a majestic looking Elk...
Western entrance to Jasper National Park where the first few miles of highway were quite rough...
Athabasca River...
Remnants of a recent forest fire...
Athabasca River...
Look at that bank of dark clouds we are headed into! Let's hope we don't get caught in a thunderstorm when we arrive at the RV Park!
Luckily the rain had been and gone by the time we pulled into Diamond Grove RV Park in Spruce Grove. Apparently Edmonton had some major flooding from this storm.
We registered at the office and after discussing the length of the site assigned to us, Nancy (park operator) took Steve out on the golf cart to take a look. He chose the longer site (#41) at the end of a row...so we had a nice "yard" on the awning side, with no close neighbours. After getting all set up, we sat outside to watch "the show"...more thunder/lightning clouds were building...
After dinner we went for a walk around the park. It's a huge RV park, with nice wide (gravel) roads and large sites.
There is a large off-leash dog park adjacent to the RV park...
Tomorrow, we start taking care of a number of errands we have planned while in the area. Hopefully, we stay well away from any of the areas Uncle Gord will be...our truck is hard to miss!
Beautiful scenery and great shot of the elk! We are headed that way in about a month, cannot wait to see it!
