Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, February 7, 8 and 9, 2016 (La Posa South LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ)

Sunday was the third day in our "marathon" of laid back kind of days! Not only are we having clear blue sky with lots of sunshine, but the sun is actually starting to warm us up. Today, the temperature went up to 80F/27C and the forecast for the rest of the week is similar...yay, it's about time!! We're finally in our shorts and flip-flops!

We had originally thought that we would head out on the quads and finish the string of geocaches along the power-line that we had worked on the other day with Jim/Barb and Red/Pam. However, we decided to postpone until tomorrow. The other day, Jim and Barb's truck refused to start so he has been working on it. To replace the filter Jim had to remove the front tire and fender wheel well skirting. Their truck is a diesel and had sprung a leak at the oil filter allowing air into the fuel line. He...along with all the guys...were over helping him this morning (okay, some were just cheering him on)...while us girls were in the background chatting. After a little coaxing, the truck finally fired up...to big cheers from everyone! By the time this was all done though, we decided to leave geocaching until tomorrow instead of being rushed...after all, the Super Bowl game is on this afternoon!

We had a great Skype call with Chris and Angela (son and daughter-in-law) and then Steve decided to tackle changing the plug on the 50 amp power cord. While he was doing that, we received an email asking us to rate our recent purchase with a company in Atlanta, Georgia...what??! We haven't bought anything from Georgia. So, I immediately called our credit card company in Canada. Apparently, there were 2 charges against our card from Atlanta, Georgia...no, neither my husband or I are currently in Georgia, we are in the middle of the Arizona desert! So, with a compromised card, our cards had to be cut up and the credit card company has begun an investigation...and they are sending us new cards.

After that I sat outside with my crocheting. Steve had just finished his project, and we sat in the shade of the sunscreen. Jim popped over for a chat and we told him about our credit card. They headed off into town to watch the game at a local restaurant/bar and a short while later we received a text message from him...he had just received a phone call from his credit card company...their credit card also had charges from Georgia! We later found out that Bob and Karen's card had also been compromised. That's three of us...so we have our suspicions that the compromise occurred at a restaurant we were all at together recently...although, we have no proof. We have advised the others at that outing with us to keep an eye on their card purchases.

Late Monday morning, we headed out on our 4-wheelers with Jim, Barb, Red and Pam to pick up the rest of the string of geocaches we had started the other day. It was a gorgeous day...and actually warm enough that we could just wear long sleeved t-shirts...no coats required!
Pam and Red, with Cody in the back...

We rode straight to the Magic Footprint where we had turned around the other day...

...and off we go to continue up the power line road...

That's me...
Lots of Fish hook cactus in bloom now...
Down...and up...we go...
Found a geocache!
Jim and Barb passing us...

On the hunt for another cache...the Ocotillo are really greening up!
Barb and Jim...

Pam and Red...

We stopped at a geocache location that we couldn't find the other day...PLR 20...nope, it's not there. We're pretty sure a critter has taken it away since the "MO" for this string is under a pile of rocks...we found the likely pile of rocks but no geocache...
Up "Beer Hill" to the location of another geocache...

Jim and Barb on their way up to join us...
After finding the geocache, we decided this was a good spot to have lunch...

After lunch, our next stop was at another geocache we hadn't been able to find the other day. This time Steve found it right away...we swear that we ALL checked and double checked that tree before!

It was about 3:00 when we got home...another great day out on the quads! We collected roughly 20 more geocaches on this outing. After getting cleaned up, we gathered over at Red and Pam's for happy hour and an informal dinner...Red put hot dogs on the barbecue...thanks guys!

Tuesday morning, I headed off in the truck with four bags of dirty laundry...it's laundry day again. About an hour later, I was back and hanging the laundry on the clothes line to dry. It wouldn't take long today as there was a warm day with a good strong breeze. While I was gone, Steve filled the fresh water tank and then went over to see if Loy, the haircut lady, was able to give him a cut today. She wasn't home...so that was a 'no go'.

After I finished the laundry, I settled in my chair outside with my crocheting. Since Steve hadn't been able to get a haircut this morning, he decided to drive into town for one.

We were both sitting outside in the shade of our sunscreen when Jim and Barb joined us for a bevie and a visit. A bit later Pam and then Rick, a solo RV Dreamer, also stopped by while walking his dog, Maxine. About an hour later, they all left and Steve and I sat out a little longer before heading inside to get dinner started.

When we had finished dinner, we joined Red, Pam, Dave and Diane around the propane fire Red had going. We chatted with them for about an hour or so and then headed back home to settle in front of the TV for the rest of the evening.
