Well, we felt a lot better this morning than we have many other New Year Day mornings in the past! I think it has something to do with celebrating on New York time...9 pm Quartzsite time was much more reasonable LOL!
It was another cold morning...and cool day, but at least the sun was shining. At about 10:00 Red and Steve headed over to the RC Airpark...the first of what I am sure will be many visits!
They met Jim and Barb there...
Red's been trying since last year to get Steve to buy one of the $300 Apprentice trainer planes like the one beside the jet. He had planned to but with the current Canadian exchange rate it would cost us around $429 plus tax! It's a want not a need for now...he'll have to be happy with his kite :-)
While Steve was out, I cleaned up and then made muffins and took down our Christmas decorations (that took all of five minutes!)...it was one of those days where I seemed to be busy just doing a bunch of little "stuff". Next thing I knew the day was gone! When Steve got home he took down our solar Christmas lights off the tree outside. We were very happy with their operation...still flashing when we get up in the morning.
We did managed to get a couple of Skype calls in to the kids. Great seeing them (and our grandsons, of course) and wishing them a Happy New Year!
At 4:00 we loaded my little crockpot (I made scalloped potatoes), the cauliflower and cheese sauce into a box, along with our beer and wine, strapped it to Steve's quad and headed down to Ray and Deb's for dinner.
Freya and Steve having a chat...
Ray and Deb have a lovely view of the wash out their front window...
Deb putting the finishing touches on dinner...while the rest of sit back...
A beautifully set dinner table, complete with cloth napkins!
Deb cooked a delicious spiral ham...
Ray, the master carver!
And we sit down to another delicious dinner!
We called it an evening at about 8:00...another great meal...thanks, Deb and Ray!
Love the picture of Steve and Freya!!!.. So cute.. Looks like they are immersed in a conversation!!
