Thursday, December 31, 2015 (La Posa South LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ)

It was another cold morning and it ended up being a rather cool day as well, with the temperature only going up to 53F/12C...but the sky was blue and the sun was shining.

Steve went over to help out Red and Jim. They have decided to buy (and share the use of) a couple of barrels for dumping and filling their tanks...basically making their own "poop mobile" rather than having to hitch up their fifth-wheels every couple of weeks to dump their black/grey water tanks and fill the fresh water tank.

Jim decided he can do a better job with his hat cocked to the side...

While Steve was in town with the guys buying supplies, Pam and I went out for a brisk walk...as usual, it was chilly as we walked into the wind but wasn't so bad on our way back.

Once home, I made a pot of chili...that would be our contribution to the potluck dinner that we are having tonight across the road over at Brian and Sue's. A potluck and bonfire for New Years Eve.

A bunch of us from our growing community here are getting together to celebrate. We started to get together at 3:30...inside Brian's tarped enclosure for warmth.
Red, Pam, Teri and Fred...
Linda and Jerry...we found out are also RV Dreamers
Barb, Jim and Deb...
Our hosts, Brain and Sue (that's Ray in the background)...
Deb and Ray...
Time for dinner...

Wow, what a delicious selection of dishes to try...
Including yummy desserts...
Pam and Steve...

After dinner, we all gathered around the campfire. Bob with Jerry and Linda trying to light a Sky Lantern...

And there it goes...
Sue, Sue, Sue and me...yes, there are three "Sue's" (including 2 "Bob's and Sue's")...
Ray, Deb, Red and Pam...
Teri, Fred and Brian...
Jerry and Bob...
We decided to celebrate New Year's Eve on New York time...so at 9:00, we had the "countdown to midnight" and Brian really stoked the fire. Yikes that's hot...time to move back!
And it's HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

It wasn't much later that we called it a night and headed home. We'd had a great time celebrating the end of 2015 and the start of 2016 with good friends and good food!

Wishing all of our family and friends a happy, healthy and prosperous 2016!
Happy New Year!
