Wednesday, February 4, 2015 (La Posa South LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ)

We opened the window blinds this morning to this beautiful view...the moon going down as the sun comes up. Spectacular!

After loading the boat back onto the truck, I was finally able to get on the road...I was going to Parker to finish up my shopping. I had planned on being on the road by 9:30...but it was closer to 10:00 by the time I was off.

I made my two usual stops...Walmart and then Safeway and was back home just after 1:30. When I got out of Walmart, there was a note under the windshield wiper of the truck..."Hi, we saw you at Peter Hope Lake last summer. See you there? Dale and Maureen, Abbotsford, BC". Well...hello Dale and Maureen! Sorry I missed seeing you! Unfortunately, you won't see us at Peter Hope Lake next summer because we are going to be work-camping. Yes, we decided to take advantage of the opportunity to work at Monck Provincial Park on Nicola Lake near Merritt, BC. We are very excited about adding this new phase to our lifestyle and look forward to working with Toni and Doug; and Sue and Doug! So if you're in the area stop by!

After unloading the groceries and putting them away, I helped Steve out with some paperwork...printing/scanning/etc. required by Rush Truck Center in Tucson. Steve spent a good part of the morning trying to source new front shocks for the truck. Not an easy task as it turns out, he made about 8 phone calls to commercial truck parts distributors in Arizona and California before having any success. Midway Chev wanted $122 each!!!,  and Rush had the Gabriels Steve wanted for $34 each. They are being drop shipped to Love's Truck Tire Care Center for installation.

By the time we were finished with that, it was going on 3:00. We hopped on our quads and stopped to see Red and Pam for a few minutes (they had just arrived back here with their brand new toy hauler) before continuing onto Les and Sue's place.

We sat chatting with Sue and Les for over an hour...great seeing you both again!

Before leaving, we had to check out their truck.  Here's Les showing us the lift for the motorcycles...
The interior is beautiful and the back seat makes into a bed...
Very nice set up they have...all custom made!

Thanks for refreshments and snacks, guys! We'll have to do it again before we all leave this area!

It was going on 5:00 when we walked across to Red and Pam's place...they had invited us over for happy hour...and burgers. We got a tour of their new home...Grand Design Momentum Toy Hauler 380TH...beautiful...we're very happy for the two of you!

Looking a little empty back there...where's the side by side Red?

We sat outside in the shade until it started cooling a bit and then moved to their deck to catch the last few rays as the sun went down...

Can you see the face in the mountain and the running horse within the face?

Once the sun was down, we moved back out to the side of the trailer and Red got the propane campfire going...along with the charcoal briquettes. No propane barbecue for grilling his burgers!

After dinner, we sat chatting for a bit longer...and next thing we knew it was 9:00 and time to call it an evening. Thanks for the great company...and great dinner! Glad to have you back!
