Sunday and Monday, February 15 and 16, 2015 (La Posa South LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ)

Sunday was the ultimate in lazy days...other than some odd chores around here (gassing up the generator and quads, filling the gallon drinking water containers, cleaning up dishes, etc), we basically sat in the shade reading.

After 4:00 we wandered over to Red and Pam's with a drink and sat chatting with them for awhile...and that was our day! Pretty tough...LOL!

Monday morning at 10:00 Steve and Red headed out for a quad ride (Red rode my quad) and shortly after they left, Pam and I headed into to town to hunt down a few geocaches. We also checked out the local Thrift Store and went to see Hi Jolly Monument. I forgot to take pictures but here is a picture off the internet.
"In 1856, Secretary of War Jefferson Davis had a novel idea: transporting freight and people across the desert Southwest on camels. He eventually imported over 70 of the beasts. Along with the first batch came a Syrian caretaker, Hadji Ali, His American masters called him Hi Jolly." To learn more, click on the link here.

We stopped at Taco Mio for lunch (excellent fish tacos) and after a stop at the Bealls Outlet store, we headed home. We had been gone just over 3 hours...don't want to leave the dogs too long in the trailer!

We were surprised when we got home, though...the guys were already back from their ride! They'd had a good ride...here are the pictures Steve took.

Morteros...Ancient Indian grinding holes at Tyson Wash...
At the Yum Yum Mine site...Erdman Mine in the distance...
Riding through Copper Bottom Pass below Cunningham Mountain...
Red's in the dust down there somewhere...
Here he comes...

We sat out in the shade reading until 4:00 when it was time to go over to Red and Pam's for a small gathering of RV-Dreamers ("Fergizmo"--Allen and Donna; and "Bigboomer"--Les and Sue) who were still in the area. Allen and Donna and Red and Pam are leaving Wednesday and Les and Sue are leaving Saturday. Again, we had lots of yummy appetizers and enjoyed our favorite bevies as we chatted. Allen and Donna had company (Dave and Dee) arrive just before happy hour, so they brought them along as well. Left to right...Dee, Donna, Allen, Dave, Red, Pam, me, Sue and Les...

It was going on 7:00 when we called it a night. It was great having one final get together with Les and Sue and Allen and Donna...safe travels and hope to see you "down the road"!
