Friday and Saturday, February 13 and 14, 2015 (La Posa South LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ)

Friday was one of those days that just slip by...we really didn't do anything "major", just a lot of normal everyday stuff...done on another gorgeous Arizona day!

After our resistance exercises, Steve had his shower while I cooked him bacon and eggs. He was eating when I headed out on my powerwalk just before 10:00. Forty-five minutes later I returned to an empty trailer...Steve had gone with Red into town to run a bunch of errands...propane, water, as well as a trip to Discount Solar to pick up some wire. Brian (our neighbor and RV electrical guy) is going to do some re-wiring in our trailer next week to do away with the junction box he had to install to get us going when our inverter wires fried.

It was after 12 noon by the time I had had my breakfast, showered and cleaned up dishes! We basically relaxed in the shade reading for most of the afternoon. Two separate fleets of six military helicopters flew over about an hour or so apart...

At about 4:00, Red and Pam came over and we enjoyed happy hour outside chatting. Then we had a very "fancy" dinner...hot dogs and chili! A quick gourmet dinner (LOL) so that we could get started on some games of Rummikub.

We played a few games...Pam and I won the first couple of games and then "let" Steve have one for they guys (haha!)

We woke to another beautiful day Saturday...Happy Valentine's Day everyone! We decided to get back out on the quads today and finish off the string of geocaches that we had started last week. Again, we wanted to get going before it got too hot out, however, again, it was almost 10:30 by the time we headed out!
I'm in the distance looking for my cache...
Steve had to reach into the top of this cactus for his geocache...

We finished up the string and then decided to ride to Granite "Q" Mountain and take a look at the old mine ruins there. Down I go into the wash...
Not sure, but this may be the Julian Mine area...

Steve rode his quad up the hill as far as he could before he came to a downed barbed-wire fence then walked up the rest of the way...while I hunted down two more geocaches that were in the area.

Granite (Q) Mountain in the distance...

That's me down below. Looking north along Tyson Wash and Quartzsite...

Looking south along Tyson Wash and the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge in the distance...

There I am grabbing a geocache...with Granite (Q) Mountain in the distance...

Can you see me (I'm just to the right of the ruins)? It's too hot today to hike up to the top of the mountain to get the geocache up there...we'll do that another day!

We got home at about 2:00...another 23 geocaches to log! After cleaning up and changing into shorts and flip-flops, we hung out in the shade behind the trailer for the rest of the afternoon.

At 5:00 we went next door to Art and Jan's...they had invited Bob, Sue, Vince, Fred, Terri and us over for a clam fry and potluck dinner. Art and Jan live up in Washington State and go clam digging at Long Beach, not far from where they live. Here is Art frying the clams...

Jan also made clam fritters...we had quite a feast! Everything was delicious! Steve says these were the largest and best tasting clams he's ever eaten!

After dinner, we sat and continued talking as the sun went down.  Ahhh...the end to another lovely day here at La Posa South!
