Sunday, November 10, 2013 (Sunset Campground, Furnace Creek, Death Valley National Park, CA)

After a pretty busy few days, we had a very lazy day today. As expected, we watched a steady stream of RVs leave this morning.

Later in the morning I took our iPad over to the visitors centre to check email while Steve went for a walk around the campground.  He particularly wanted to get a picture of this old motorhome that had driven through the campground the other day and had chosen a spot in the overflow section. Unfortunately the owners were away so Steve couldn't get any info.

We sat outside reading for a good portion of the day. This couple are camped in a van behind us and have been coming here for 15 years. They are very talented making all sorts of crafty things.  The fellow carves balls within the wood by first cutting slots and hollowing a channel for them to roll back and forth. The other day he showed Steve a beautiful walking stick he made this way. He also makes earrings the same way.

The woman makes necklaces out of all sorts of things...like beads and painted carrots and potatoes. They actually look pretty good...

The fellow gets around on a scooter...he's towing a "gag" Blue Boy Tank.

And that was pretty much our day...not much...
