We woke to another awesome day! I sat with my coffee and laptop working on our blog. Yes, I was way behind after having no internet for the week we were in Death Valley...time to share the beauty of the park and get those pictures uploaded!
After our resistance exercises, I went out for a powerwalk around the park while Steve had his shower. This is the view out our back window...the mountains in the background are just beautiful...
We were sitting outside having our breakfast smoothie when a woman walking her dog came over to talk to us. She said you don't know me but I feel like I know you. Kelly was at River Bend RV Resort in Oregon a year ago last September during the RV-Dreams Fall Rally. Although they weren't attending the rally, that is how/when she found Howard and Linda Payne's blog as well as ours. And she has been following our blog ever since. She and her husband (and Yorkie, Gracie) are now full-timers as well.
We had a pretty laid-back morning and then decided to head to the pool for the afternoon (hmmm...I guess that makes it a pretty laid-back day!) This is the new pool area that used to be a helipad , apparently just built this past year. Already having a beautiful lower pool area, I was surprised that they built another one...to take advantage of the beautiful mountain views??? This is the fire pit area...
At about 3:00 we headed back to the trailer to get showered and ready to go out for dinner. The wine-pairing dinner at the clubhouse is served at 5:00, however, everyone is encouraged to bring their own pre-dinner cocktails and mingle at 4:30.
Apparently this was one of the largest turnouts for the weekly dinner...53 had signed up.
We selected a table and were soon joined by two other couples, Helen and Bob (on Steve's left), and Alan and Sandy. Bob and Helen are full-time RVers from South Dakota and Alan and Sandy are from Osoyoos, BC and are heading south for the winter.
The ladies are busy getting ready to serve dinner. Millie, behind the table on the left, is co-ordinating the activities at the park for the month of November. She and her husband are from Salt Lake City and are full-timers staying here at the park.
We had a delicious dinner of roasted pork loin along with some excellent wine. We both really enjoyed a red wine...Burgundy, made right here on the property at Pahrump Valley Winery. We made new friends...just a really great evening!
