While I was puttering around inside, Steve was outside installing the new sewer hose on the trailer...not a fun job, by the sound of it. Once he was done that, we decided to drive to a gas station and fill up our gas containers in preparation for our move to Joshua Tree National Park tomorrow...we'll be needing gas for the generator.
Steve was also trying to decide whether to fuel up the truck...hoping that he'd have enough diesel to get to Quartzsite (that's where we are heading after Joshua Tree). Fuel is significantly cheaper in Arizona than here in California. Better not chance it...so we found a station that actually had diesel for under $3.90/gallon; a lot more reasonable than some of the prices we saw...one station had it at $4.60/gallon!
Dennis, Suzanne and Dwight came by just after 3:30 to pick us up...we were going over to their place for a drink and then doing out to the Hog's Breath Inn Restaurant & Bar to take advantage of their happy hour specials. We had been there twice before when we were here a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it.
It was a beautiful warm day 82F/28C...but a light cloud covering had come in. They have a lovely patio area...
We decided to Skype Rob and Angie...and of course, we wanted to see Conner. Chris and Angela were visiting them for the weekend...here is Uncle Chris holding Conner with proud daddy beside him...
Me and my "little" brother...
We managed to get the last table out on the deck...
After another wonderful evening...and way too much wine, our "DD" Suzanne drove us home...thanks again, Suzanne! We have had three great evenings visiting...and with the added bonus of another brother being there. Dwight has just a few more days to enjoy the sun and warmth of southern California before he flies back to Victoria.
