Friday and Saturday, July 25 and 26, 2014 (Paska Lake Recreation Site, Logan Lake, BC)

Friday started off cool (4.6C/40F) and foggy...rather eerie looking over the lake...

We decided to drive into Logan Lake again today...with the cold weather, we have had the propane heater on a lot, therefore going through a lot of propane. We might as well fill up the fresh water containers as well. So just before 11:30, we were on our way. Again, Steve dropped me off at the hotel and I went into the coffee shop to work on the blog. A short while later, Steve joined me in the coffee shop. After finishing and posting our blog update, we stayed for a little while longer, catching up on email, banking, etc. We were back home around 2:30...to find a lot more campers had joined us in the campground. They must have heard the great weather forecast for the weekend!

Craving sunshine, we sat outside...there were still clouds hanging around but at least the sun was coming through for the most part. We stayed out until about 6:00 and then headed inside...Steve watched the evening news while I got things ready for dinner. After dinner, we settled in for an evening of TV...and reading.

Saturday....Sunshine! We woke to clear blue skies this morning. The weather forecast is back to warm temperatures over the next week (at least)...back to summer...yay!

At 10:00 we were all ready. Time to get out and do a little exploring of the area on our quads...
Yikes!
 Wyse Lake...
A little mud to go through....

See the  square hole carved into the tree on the left?

Our first geocache of the day found at Wyse Lake...

You want me to cross that and come down there?

That's me with my...where the hell are you taking me face!

And now a log bridge....well, more like a bunch of logs thrown across a boggy spot...

And there I am in the mud again....

Now we are at Roper Lake...and on the hunt for another geocache....

 Found it!

This is the far end of Dominic Lake...
...and another geocache...

We took a short ride into Dominic Lake Resort...it's for sale, so we thought we'd take a look...
There are some rec sites....
...and a few cottages...

There's our destination, way up there...the old Forest Fire Lookout Tower on Greenstone Mountain...

...and we made it!
Dianne at the quads....

Hey we can have a candle lit lunch and...
...a snooze!

Kwilalkwila Lake...Tunkwa Lake in the distance top right...

Grace Lake nearby...Face Lake in the distance below the horizon on right...

Forest Fire Lookout on Greenstone Mountain Peak... Dianne by the quads on the right...

Tunkwa and Leighton Lakes in the distance where we camped with Earl and Allison a few weeks ago...
Kamloops in the distance...

Towers in the distance on top of Mount Savona where we rode with Earl and Allison a few weeks ago...
Kamloops Lake...

And a couple of panorama shots (remember, you can click any picture to enlarge)...

After lunch, it was time to head off in search of more geocaches on the mountain....

The container on this one was left open and was full of rain water...
 Kamloops Lake...

This one took forever to find. It was 40' away from the co-ordinates...

And here we are at the final geocache...that's the campground in the distance...

We were back at 3:15...a little over 5 hours, 42 km and we picked up 12 geocaches along the way. After unloading the quads and changing into shorts and flip-flops, it was time to relax in the sunshine.

  2. Hi. I really am intrigued by a photo in your week of July 27-30, 2014. Can you tell me what kind of lounge chair it is that Steve is kicked back in by the water ? It looks so comfy. The one with his legs stretched out. It looks like it sits higher up off the ground than the typical ones. I would love to find one. Can you tell me what it is and where I might find one ? Thanks !
