It was shortly after 10:00 by the time we left Watson Lake and continued north on the Alaska Highway. It wasn't long before we came upon some road repair...actually it was bridge repair over the Upper Liard River...single lane...
It's a pretty cloudy day today...
Bridge over Little Rancheria River...yikes, we'll be crossing the narrow bridge at the same time as a semi coming from the opposite direction...no sweat!
We stopped at a rest area just before the Lower Rancheria River...the bridge is a rather unusual design...

Welcome to Teslin sign as we near the village...
The Nisutlin Bay Bridge is the longest water span on the Alaska Highway at 1917 feet/584m. The Nisutlin River forms the "bay" as it flows into Teslin Lake here. The Nisutlin Delta National Wildlife Area is an important waterfowl migration stop-over.

After stopping at the restaurant (above), we drove across the highway to the local grocery store...Steve wanted to get a fishing license for the Yukon. He is hoping to be able to get a little fishing in. The only fishing regulations they had left were in French and German...well that's not going to work!
About 16 kms/10 miles further along the highway, we came to today's destination...Teslin Lake Yukon government campground. We parked the rig in the large rest area at the entrance to the campground and walked in to check out the sites. There are two loops... one with sites just above the lake and although the literature says they have pull-through sites, all they are all pull-offs to the side of the road as you drive through. The second loop has large back-in sites. We chose one and Steve walked back to get the rig.
Site #19 has a nice view of the lake (through the trees) and the price is right...$12/night (dry camping only).
We took a path that led down to the lake. Unfortunately, there is no beach area...I'm not sure if the water level is just really high or if this is normal.
After our walk, we sat outside enjoying our view of the lake...and swatting bugs! They have pretty tough ones up here!!
