Friday, July 19, 2013 (Travel to Tundra RV Park, Tok, Alaska)

We were up bright and early this morning...as a matter of fact we were waiting for the restaurant to open up at 6:30 (that's 5:30 Alaska time!!)

It was shortly after 7:00 when we were on the way to the ferry.  It was like they were waiting for us...we drove right on board...

Just as predicted, it was cloudy and with intermittent rain...

And we were above the clouds a few times...

But a few rays of sunshine were making their way through...

Low clouds again...

...but at least we are having better views than our trip to Dawson...
 Even a little blue sky...

 Oops...then back to low clouds...

And a bit of snow...

This cabin is at the Canada-USA border for the guards...

We must be high in the mountains at the border...up in the clouds...

 Such beautiful scenery...

South Fork River (again)...

Approaching the Community of Chicken, Alaska...

We stopped at The Goldpanner Gift Shop for a break...and a walk around...

Another Dredge...

A couple from Florida were gold panning...

What a great stage for a music festival...

We sat outside on the deck and had a cup of coffee...

And then we drove across the road to the spot we had stopped for coffee on our way to Dawson...

We bought a couple of tee-shirts at the store and then wandered next door to the saloon...Holy Cats...look at the hats!

The chicken coup....

A very cool place...but it was time to get back on the road.

West Fork Dennison River...

The purple fireweed on the hills is just gorgeous...

Whew....we made it!
