Wednesday and Thursday, January 16 and 17, 2019 (La Posa South LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ)

Wednesday...and time for another quad ride! We all gathered next door at Earl and Allison's place and were ready to go shortly after 10:00. On today's ride...Earl (leading), followed by me, Vince, Bob, Sue, Jim/Cec, Guy/Sue and Steve.

We stopped briefly at Erdman mine but it was super busy...tours going on, I guess. Then we headed back into the canyon to search for a geocache that Earl and Allison had placed a few years ago...Steve and I had actually been with them when they hid it. It is in quite a remote area, having little traffic, so Earl decided to remove and archive it.

Looking back on the valley we had just ridden...
We are all searching for Earl's geocache...Steve was the one to eventually find it!
Then we continued on through the mountain pass to "Deer Run Resort" where we stopped for lunch....
It's a busy place with another group there...
We did a little geocaching on our way home, arriving just before 3:30. Harry and Vicki had just arrived and were busy setting up. We stopped to welcome them and then left them alone to get their work done before happy hour. Yay! Another couple of our RV family have arrived for our annual visit!

And of course, everyone gathered at our place for our desert ritual...happy hour! Bottom left, going around the circle...Guy's head, Steve, Pam, Red, Harry, Vicki, Sue and Troy (neighbour of Guy and Sue's...he happens to also be from Canada)...
Our group dispersed around 5:30 and we went inside for dinner...and another evening in front of the TV.

Thursday was exercises, walk and shower day...after which Steve headed into town for a haircut and to fill our drinking water containers.

When Steve got back, he started back in on picture editing while I did some cleaning and baking. We even managed to get a couple of more blog updates posted! Yay!

Steve and Debbie arrived after 4:30...with Debbie's brother (Steve) and Sister-in-law (Diane). Yes, another Steve and Diane! Steve and Red met them at the watering station and led them into a couple of sites near us all. We left them to get set up and had a short happy hour over at Red and Pam's with Harry and Vicki.

After dinner, we all headed over to Steve and Deb's camp and enjoyed sitting around their campfire. Our RV family gathering is getting bigger! So good to re-connect with everyone every winter!

A lovely sunset this evening...

  2. Looks like it was a crowded day on the trail. Lots of people for happy hours but I don't see any 4 legged visitors!

  3. Steve took me to Deer Run and it was quite a ride getting in there over the rocks. Cool place though, popular stop. Another great sunset pic!
