After breakfast, Steve went out to program all ten tire pressure sensors to the refurbished replacement tire pressure monitor he received from TST in January. The old monitor started dropping out sensors last November so hopefully this is the fix.
It was shortly after noon by the time we decided to get out for a walk. We walked down the hill towards the lake.
There were lots of fishers out on boats...
As well as shore fishers everywhere...
Lake Mead and Lake Mohave have large mouth bass, rainbow trout, striped bass, black crappie, channel catfish, and bluegill.
With it being this busy during the week we don't recommend being here on a weekend as mentioned on the Wheelingit blog.
Great Egrets in the distance...
Our rig at the top of the hill...
Great Blue Heron (for you, Angie!)...
Western Grebe...
Lots of fresh water clam shells...
By the thousands...
That's our rig way up there on top of the hill. These roads that we walked today are steep and rough and would require AWD or 4x4...
After our walk, we relaxed with a bottle of water enjoying the view and then I went in and made us lunch (yes...a late lunch...after a late breakfast...).
I spent the rest of the afternoon baking while Steve read and researched stops along our route as we head north. Oh yeah...somewhere in there I managed to get a blog update posted!
And that was pretty much our day...a nice laid back day in a beautiful area. One thing about this place is it's on the flight path to the Vegas Airport so between flights you can hear the birds in the distance. The only other campsite that comes to mind in our almost 5 years on the road that had such awesome views from our rig was Goosenecks State Park.
Site next to us is empty. See you tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful area. So agree with you, some people are definitely pigs. Shame about the garbage. Good luck on your upcoming job!!
