Monday, July 9, 2012 (Sheridan Lake Resort, Lone Butte, BC)

We woke at 5:00 this morning to the sound of rain on the trailer roof...hey, that wasn’t in the forecast!  Oh right...Steve washed the truck last night; it’s his fault!  We just couldn’t believe it!

We got up just after 7:00 and the rain had stopped but it was fairly cloudy out.  My mission today was to get the mountain of laundry done...and after two days of no fishing, Steve decided he was going out for one final fish before we leave tomorrow. It was also exercise day so that was first on our agenda.

Steve was gone before 10:00 and it was shortly after 10 by the time I got all the laundry sorted and loaded into the truck.  Almost 3 hours and 5 loads of laundry, I was back home.  Steve was still out on the lake and wouldn’t be in for about another hour.   Apparently he had some rain but it later cleared up and it was another hot, hot afternoon.  He saw some deer on one of the islands in the lake...

Beautiful boat out on the lake...

He caught one fish...22”...nice!

Gee, with the fuel tank covering part of it doesn't look that big ...but he figures it was over 4 lbs.

A float plane taking off from the lake...

Gee...looks a little close to the boats...

Gorgeous out there...

After I got the laundry put away and the bed made up, I was hot and exhausted, so went outside and relaxed in my chair with my book and a bottle of water.  Even in the shade, it was darned hot so I decided to go inside and Steve got the air conditioner going.  I worked on our travel journal while he headed off to fuel up...both the truck and all of the gas cans for the quads.

It was after 5:00 when a cloud covered the sun giving some relief from the direct heat so we went over to the truck to shorten the new rope...it had stretched and was now too long.  After that was done, we loaded the boat and motor back into the truck...we had quite an audience at the beach of people wanting to see how it worked.

There were some clouds starting to move in...a thunderstorm was in the forecast for tonight.  We hope it doesn’t bring rain with it.  We are leaving tomorrow and it’s going to be a challenge as it is...we don’t need the ground soggy again; it just dried up!

After dinner Ralph and Sheila Matthews popped over from their place at Deka Lake...about 15 minutes away.  They are leaving for Three Valley Gap tomorrow too so we will be travelling with them.  We sat outside chatting for a bit...and after deciding what time we would be heading off in the morning, they were on their way.

According to Ralph and Sheila, there won’t be any cell/internet service at Three Valley Gap...so I will have lots of catching up to do on the blog...we plan to be there for a week.  So stay tuned to hear about our time at the Revelstoke 2012 GPS/ATV Ride.
