It was a cooler cloudy day today as everyone packed up and gradually
left the grounds. There would still be a
few of us staying one more night. Jeff
and Marlaine, Zan, Mario and John along with us were staying one more night. The guys managed to man-handle Don and Linda’s
trailer and swing it around from behind us and get it hooked to Don’s
truck. We had planned on moving so they
could get out but they thought they would give this a try...and they
succeeded...bonus for us not to have to move. Thanks Don, for the use of your truck while in Merritt so that we didn't have to unhitch...very much appreciated!
There was one final ride...all of the ribbons marking the trails had to
be removed...so Zan, Gary, Mario, John, Jeff and Marlaine headed out about mid
morning. Marlaine finally got to go on a
ride...she and Jeff had been so busy with organizing the event; now they were
going to get a chance to get out for a ride.
Steve and I chose not to go on another ride today...instead; we decided
to take advantage of the quad-washing area.
It was a great setup...and the power-washers were really needed to get
all that “Merritt mud” off.
After we had finished that, Steve puttered around outside...organizing
the truck and loading the quads while I sat inside working on our journal. It was well after 5:00 when we heard the
quads returning...they had had a long ride but then again, they had to stop and
remove all of the ribbons.
Yesterday we got an email from Janos at The RV Times magazine that the article (Unique RVs) on our truck was now published and the digital version was available at www.rvtimes.ca. The magazine version should be available any day.
After dinner, we joined the much smaller group under Jeff and Marlaine’s
tent and chatted about the next event that we had just learned about. The Revelstoke ATV Club and the Sicamous
Quaders ATV Club will be holding the 2012 ATV/GPS Ride in Revelstoke on July 14
and 15, 2012. It sounds like a lot of
fun, so we thought we would join Jeff and Marlaine; Bob and Sue; and Ralph and
Sheila...along with lots of others who will be attending. So we are heading to Sheridan Lake tomorrow
for a week and then will go to Three Valley Gap on July 10...a few days before
the event.
