Saturday to Tuesday, February 22 to 25, 2020 (La Posa South LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ)

Saturday (Feb. 22) morning at about 4:00 a.m. the rain started...it had also been one of the warmest nights that I can remember having here. We had all vents and bedroom windows wide open.

The rain started light in the wee-hours but by mid morning we were having a torrential downpour! So needless to say, it was an inside day. Along with the rain, we had some pretty gusty winds but by mid afternoon, the rain had subsided, leaving just the wind.

Steve sent Dave and Leslie a text saying he would be right over to collect his pot of gold...LOL!
Looking towards Guy and Sue's rig...
And towards Art and Jan's and Fred and Terry's...
Running water everywhere...
By the evening things have dried up...a faint rainbow as the sun reflects off  the mountain...
Another beautiful sunset...
At 4:30 we walked over to Dave and Leslie's for an inside happy hour...Sue and Guy joined us. A good hour or so chatting with great friends over a beverage.

Sunday (Feb. 23) we were back to beautiful blue sky and sunshine! Steve was on a mission today...get the pictures of the 2 days of riding he did with the folks from Yuma ready for our blog! That shows you how far behind we have gotten...the rides were February 10 and 11, and today is the 23rd...yikes! But he/we did it...and got both blog updates done!

Dale and Ruth have returned to La Posa South LTVA for a couple of weeks, so they joined us for happy hour tonight. Great seeing you both again! Me, Leslie, Ruth, Dale, Sue, Guy and Dave...
After a quick dinner, we met Dave, Leslie, Guy and Sue out at the campfire and enjoyed an hour or so before calling it a night.

Monday (Feb. 24) morning was a beautiful calm start to the day, so Steve texted Guy to see if he wanted to go to the RC airfield...Earl and Allison were away. Absolutely!....so they took off just before 9:00.

Here's Steve...
It was not a good day for either one of us. Guy was having issues confusing his left with his right which is easy to do when the plane is coming towards you. Eventually after some close calls he asked me to land it for him...a plane I had never flown before but I got it down okay. It fly's nice...I want one Dianne:)

On my first flight I had a propeller strike on the runway on takeoff popping off the nose cone . After inspection my plane still looked okay so I had a successful flight after that. I later said to Guy you will have days like today where you're just not feeling it, so it's best to just watch the others and return another day.

So we watched fellow Victorian Shawn prepping his gas biplane for flight...

His buddy is from Kelowna, BC, a very good stunt pilot...

A toy hauler...KA-CHING!
It wasn't the morning we were hoping for, but at least our planes are still in one piece!

Back to Dianne...
I finished cleaning up the kitchen and then sat with the laptop writing blog updates from notes that I have been taking...at least that way when Steve has done his thing with the pictures, I will just have to insert them.

Steve and Guy got home around 1:00...by this time, I had finished my work and was sitting outside in the sunshine. Steve joined me and we had a pretty relaxing afternoon.

Hmmm...this is becoming a recurring theme! Another happy hour gathering...Leslie, Sue, Cec, Jim, Guy, Dave, Earl and Steve...
After the others left, Dave and Leslie stayed for an easy dinner of grilled burgers. Steve brought out the propane fire pit..
Tuesday (Feb. 25) we had planned on making a trip to Blythe for some supplies. Dave and Leslie also wanted to go so suggested we all go together after Leslie's dancing class.

So we picked Les up at noon and headed to Blythe. The first order of business was to decide on a spot for lunch. Steve had a hankering for Chinese food and with everyone's blessing chose China Garden Restaurant and we were not disappointed. After a feast of Chinese food, Leslie and I were dropped off at Albertson's for a few groceries while Steve and Dave went off to buy a socket at Ace Hardware, then wash Dave's truck...remember the horse trailer urine spray from awhile ago:)

We were back home by late afternoon...a good day, but no pictures!
