Tuesday to Thursday, February 26 to 28, 2019 (La Posa South LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ)

Tuesday morning Steve went with Earl and Red to the fly their RC planes out in the desert behind us. I got out for a walk and then puttered around inside.

Red's first flight with his new vertical take off and landing plane...

It was a short flight as it went out of control and crashed but is repairable...

After lunch we loaded the laundry in the truck and headed into town. While I did the laundry, Steve walked across the street and got his hair cut.

Back home, I put the clothes on the line to dry while Steve edited pictures. The laundry was pretty well done...just some socks left on the line to finish drying...when it was 4:00 and time to relax with a bevie outside. Soon Dave, Leslie and Harry joined us and we enjoyed the late afternoon sunshine until it went down behind the mountain....brrr...the queue to end happy hour and head inside.

Wednesday was another beautiful day. Steve and Earl were out early to fly their RC planes...
I finally tackled a chore that has been on my "to do" list...clean out my bedroom cupboard. I ended up taking about 20 lbs of old bedding, towels and clothing down to the gatehouse and donating it to the "free stuff" table.

While I was doing that, Steve continued editing pictures...as usual.

We're having a special happy hour today...our annual beer tasting. Unfortunately Jim and Barb, who started this tradition aren't here to partake...but we're keeping up the tradition!

It was the hottest day we have had so far this winter so we started in the shade behind the trailer...Harry, Leslie, Dave, Pam, Red, Allison and Earl...
Harry pouring samples of his beers. Ahhh...thatsa so good!
Lots of different beers to try along with some good munchies. The ones out front were generally liked better than the ones at the back...
Interesting names...this was the worst in our taste testing...
As it cooled down, we moved around to the other side of the trailer...
Dave seemed to be the only one that liked IPA beer, so after each of us trying a sample, he got to finish the bottle...might be paying for that tomorrow :)
As the evening progressed, we continued our taste testing at the fire pit and got a campfire going...
The grand finale was Red making "little beers"....shots of the liqueur "43"...(their last name is Beers)
With a floater of heavy cream on top...makes for a very smooth drink...
A great evening! Note to self for next year...plan more food than just snacks. Last year we had ordered pizzas from Silly Al's and Pam drove to town to pick them up...good idea!

Thursday morning we went into town to run some errands....propane, pick up parcels at Quiet Times and pick up a few things for dinner.

Once back, Steve filled the fresh water tank and then changed the dirty air filters on the quads...

While he was busy doing that, I made burger patties and prepared things for dinner...and then sat outside knitting.

It's Harry's last night with us here on the desert, so he along with Dave and Leslie, joined us for an easy dinner...grilled burgers...
It was a warm night...we've gone from cold evenings huddled inside to leaving the door and windows open to cool down the trailer!
