We woke to another fabulous sunny morning...not a cloud in the sky! After our usual start to the day, we decided that we really had better get back into doing our resistance exercises...something we have been neglecting. And why not get back into exercising with a big bang? Let's also go for a hike!
So shortly after 10:30 we were finally ready to head out. I think we have everything...hats...check; sunscreen on...check; water...check; camera...check; binoculars...check; GPS (with geocaches downloaded)...check; walking stick...check...yup, we're good to go!
We started off on the Mesa Trail that runs behind our site and managed to find the Lime-Kiln Trail.
Here I am with GPS in hand checking to see if there are any geocaches nearby...
We didn't realize we were in the Lime Kiln area, so we got more pictures on our way back...
We found a geocache...unfortunately, the container was full of water. Consequently, everything inside of it was soaked...
Up and up, we go...
We went as far as Rattlesnake Wash Overlook, about 2.5 miles. We took a look at this map that was posted at the junction of trails and decided that to do the whole loop would be about another 5 miles, so decided to go back the way we came.

We were back just shy of three hours...and 4.8 miles (7.72 kms).
We relaxed, had a bite to eat and by the time I had showered, it was 4:00...and time to wander over to Red and Pam's. Everyone is gathering there for happy hour and chili dogs!

After dinner, we sat around propane campfires...we had taken ours over and Jesse and Sherry had also brought theirs along...
Pam and Codie...
Another great evening spent with great friends! We are incredibly fortunate to live the lifestyle we do and to have met so many wonderful people along the way!
For anyone interested, we spent almost a week here 3 years ago and did a lot of touring of the area...check out our blog starting November 6, 2011
